(NLĐO) - After eating four scallops costing 1.4 million VND, an anonymous account posted on social media to urge "everyone to avoid this restaurant."
On February 1-2 (the 4th day of Tet), the People's Committee of Ward 2, Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, along with relevant units, worked with the owner of O.D restaurant (Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Vung Tau City) after the restaurant was criticized by tourists on social media.
Previously, an anonymous account posted on a social media group about a negative experience at a restaurant in Vung Tau City.

Specifically, this person shared (verbatim): "When going to Vung Tau, everyone should avoid this restaurant. Four scallops cost 1.44 million VND, which is shocking. I heard this restaurant has the same owner as the Seafood Night Market restaurant that often gets complaints." Along with that was an image of the restaurant's receipt.
According to this receipt, on the evening of January 31st (the 3rd day of Tet), customers visited O.D restaurant for a meal. The grilled Japanese scallops with scallion oil were priced at 1.2 million VND/kg; Thai-style stingray hotpot at 250,000 VND… The total bill was over 1.7 million VND, with 1.2kg of Japanese scallops costing over 1.4 million VND.
According to the bill this person shared, the Japanese scallop dish cost over 1.4 million VND.
In the comments section, this anonymous account further stated that they initially intended to order 6 scallops, but the staff said that because the scallops were large, they would eat 4 first. However, when they went to pay, they were shocked to find that the 4 Japanese scallops cost over 1.4 million VND.
After the post was published on social media, many people shared and commented on it, and it was reposted by several other groups. Many people thought that the price of over 1.4 million VND for four scallops was too expensive. Some advised the tourist to report the incident to the local authorities for handling.
Authorities are working with the restaurant owner.
As soon as the article was published, the People's Committee of Ward 2 received the information and subsequently sent a delegation to work with the restaurant.
Reportedly, at the time of the inspection, the establishment had posted the selling prices of its goods and presented relevant operating documents and invoices for the purchase and sale of goods. According to the authorities, the price of Japanese scallops imported by this establishment was 920,000 VND/kg.
Authorities have documented the entire incident, worked with representatives of the establishment, and are continuing to handle the case according to regulations.
At the time of inspection, the restaurant had a price tag of 1.2 million VND/kg for Japanese scallops.
