The tournament was jointly organized by the Department of Sports and Physical Training, Vietnam Vovinam Federation, and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nam Dinh province, taking place from October 10 to 14.

The tournament has the participation of 450 athletes and coaches from 36 units nationwide such as: Thanh Hoa, Can Tho, Binh Duong , Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, host Nam Dinh, ... Athletes compete in 48 sets of medals, including 26 combat weight categories and 22 martial arts events. Of which, combat has 14 male weight categories (from 45 kg to over 92 kg), 12 female weight categories (from 42 kg to over 75 kg), and martial arts events include: Solo, Dual, Multi, Team Martial Arts, ...
This year’s season is an important “test”, re-evaluating the training and practice process of the Vovinam department in the localities. In particular, this is an opportunity for units to focus on key faces to invest in aiming at the force to participate in the 2023 World Vovinam Championship taking place at the end of November this year in Ho Chi Minh City.
The matches are expected to be very exciting.
Representative of the organizing committee, martial artist Tran Van My, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Vovinam Federation said: “This is an important tournament in the national competition system of Vovinam. At the tournament, many young athletes are invested by units aiming for the 2023 World Vovinam Championship and the 33rd SEA Games in 2025 in Thailand. Therefore, the professional quality and competition of the tournament are quite high.”
This year’s tournament also brings together SEA Games champions to compete. Notable names include Mai Thi Kim Thuy, Le Thi Hien, Bui Thi Thao Ngan, etc. In addition, the presence of many young athletes promises to bring good performances to this year’s tournament. Thereby, they create a new wind for the Vovinam movement in the present era. With their youth and confidence, they create attractive and surprising matches until the last seconds.
