

Mr. Duong Van Nghia (born in 1992) is the Deputy Chief of Cam Hung Commune Police, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Canh (born in 1992) is the Deputy Secretary in charge of Cam Xuyen District Youth Union. Mr. Nghia has donated blood 22 times, and Ms. Canh has donated blood 26 times.
The couple are familiar names to the HMTN community in Cam Xuyen district in particular and Ha Tinh in general because they have participated in this meaningful charity program for more than ten years.
They used to be classmates in high school. When they went to Hanoi to study at university, they joined the Youth Union so they had many opportunities to participate in blood donation activities and volunteer programs organized by the higher-level Youth Union and the Nghe Tinh student association.
In 2013, after graduating from university, Ms. Canh returned to work in the locality and took on roles such as: Secretary of the Tan An Village Youth Union (Cam Binh Commune), Secretary of the Cam Binh Commune Youth Union; Deputy Secretary of the Cam Xuyen District Youth Union and is now Deputy Secretary in charge of the Cam Xuyen District Youth Union.

Mr. Nghia graduated from the People's Police Academy and was assigned to work at Cam Xuyen District Police in 2016; in 2019, he was elected Secretary of the District Police Youth Union; by 2024, he was Deputy Head of Cam Hung Commune Police.
In 2017, they got married. As husband and wife, they had many opportunities to encourage and support each other in Youth Union activities and participate in the Youth Union movement together.
In addition to annual blood donation programs organized by the Red Cross and Youth Union, the couple regularly donate blood directly to save people in emergency situations at medical facilities in Ha Tinh and Nghe An.
For example, in December 2022, the couple drove more than 10 km at night to the Provincial General Hospital to donate blood to save a critically ill patient; at the end of 2023, they and some local union members went to Nghe An to donate blood to save a resident of Cam Hung commune who had a serious accident...

Ms. Canh shared: “Sharing the same passion and enthusiasm for the Youth Union and humanitarian volunteer activities, both my husband and I are always willing to donate blood to save people. We are very happy that the blood we donated has contributed to helping many people overcome critical situations and sustain their lives.”
Not only directly donating blood, Mr. Nghia and Ms. Canh also actively propagate and mobilize hundreds of friends, relatives, union members and local people to participate in safe blood donation. Thanks to the active role of Union officials like them, Cam Xuyen District Union has always been the leading unit in the blood donation movement; in 2025, the unit was one of four typical collectives to receive a certificate of merit from the Provincial People's Committee.
With his efforts to contribute to the work of the Youth Union and the HMTN movement, Mr. Nghia was awarded a certificate of merit by the Ministry of Public Security for his outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "For National Security" (2021); the Youth Union of the Ministry of Public Security awarded a certificate of merit for his outstanding achievements in the movement of People's Public Security Youth studying and implementing the 6 teachings of Uncle Ho (2022)...
Ms. Canh was awarded a certificate of merit by the Central Committee of the Youth Union in 2021 for her many achievements in work, along with many certificates of merit and certificates of merit from various levels and sectors. In 2024, they were honored by Cam Xuyen district in the voluntary blood donation movement. In 2025, they were 2 of 19 outstanding individuals to receive a certificate of merit from the Provincial People's Committee in the voluntary blood donation movement.

Mr. Nghia and Ms. Canh always strive in their work and devote themselves to humanitarian volunteer activities.
Sharing his feelings when both husband and wife were honored as outstanding blood donors in the province this year, Mr. Duong Van Nghia said: “We are very happy and proud to stand together on stage at the honoring ceremony. This is the attention and recognition that is deserved from all levels and sectors and also the motivation for us to continue the blood donation journey to save people that we have chosen.”
