If you have been to Da Lat, Hoi An, Ninh Binh to enjoy the beautiful landscapes and heritage, on the occasion of the National Day holiday on September 2, visitors can refresh their experience with 5 destinations in the West.

The following locations are discussed a lot in the Western group with more than 130,000 members, and are also suggested by local young people and tour guides for tourists with 2-3 days off on September 2, with many activities close to nature, convenient to travel by car or motorbike.

Clam raking in Rach Bun beach, Tien Giang

60 km from Ho Chi Minh City, Rach Bun beach in Tan Dien commune, Go Cong Dong district is a suitable destination for a short motorbike trip. Tien Giang electronic information portal introduces this as a place to "comfortably check in, party between the forest and the sea". The most convenient time to go to the beach to rake is from 3-5 pm.

Visitors who register to rake clams at the beach will be provided with tools including a plastic basket, rake and sickle. There is no time limit for raking, and after raking, visitors can buy clams for 30,000 VND per kilogram or return the clams to the beach owner. If visitors rake 10 kilograms, they will receive a kilogram to take home.

Phan Thanh Ngan, 20 years old, from Tien Giang, and two friends set off from Ho Chi Minh City to Rach Bun beach at the end of June. Ngan said that from April to October the sea is calm, suitable for clam raking activities on the beach.

"Scratching and chatting with friends feels very relaxing," Ngan said, adding that she often comes here with friends from the city whenever she returns to her hometown.

Departing from Ho Chi Minh City, visitors travel about 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach the beach in Go Cong district. The beach stretches from Vam Lang town to Rach Goc culvert. Following the asphalt road, visitors will see the pristine beach with its characteristic black sand mixed with mud.

A day of clam digging is enough. Around Rach Bun beach area, there are homestays and motels for tourists who want to stay overnight. Restaurants near the beach sell fresh seafood such as clams, crabs, shrimp, scallops for 30,000 to 200,000 VND per portion.

Tan Thanh beach is a 15-minute walk from the clam raking spot and is also a popular photo spot.

Walking between islands in Ba Hon Dam, Kien Giang

According to the Kien Giang Province Department of Tourism information page, Ba Hon Dam includes Hon Dam Duoc, Hon Dam Duong and Hon Dam Gieng in the Ba Lua archipelago. This island cluster is located to the southeast between Ha Tien city and Phu Quoc.

Ba Hon Dam is located in a shallow sea area, the water level only reaches the waist of an adult. Therefore, visitors can walk between the islands, wade or take a boat. In addition, when the tide recedes, the road connecting the islands is exposed, visitors can cross this road to move between the three islands.

"Walking back and forth between the islands on the sandy path in the middle of the sea is quite interesting," said Ho Anh Tuan, 21, from Kien Giang. Tuan came to Ba Hon Dam in late July and said the scenery here is pristine, the air is fresh, and "very relaxing."

There are not many restaurants on the island but the food is diverse, mostly seafood dishes such as grilled squid, grilled sea urchin, grouper soup, and steamed crab.

Tran Tuan Long, a tour guide with 7 years of experience in Kien Giang and An Giang, said that there is no wifi on the island, tourists need to register for 4G. If tourists want to stay overnight, they should contact local people or book in advance at Hon Dam Duoc tourist area.

To get to Ba Hon Dam, visitors ride a motorbike 15km from Kien Luong town to the district's tourist wharf. Here, visitors buy a round-trip boat ticket for 250,000 VND, returning the same day, tickets are not sold online. Long said visitors can get there by booking a speedboat ticket to Hon Dam Duoc tourist area in advance, if staying overnight, the round-trip ticket increases by 50,000 VND. Travel time to the island is 30 to 40 minutes depending on sea conditions.

Tuan said that visiting Ba Hon Dam in one day is enough, so you should combine visiting other places in Kien Giang.

Check in Ta Lot stream, An Giang

Ta Lot Stream is located in An Hao commune, Tinh Bien district, behind Cam mountain.

When coming to Ta Lot stream, visitors should prepare some food in advance or bring a stove to organize a barbecue party with friends. According to tour guide Tran Tuan Long, this place is free to visit but visitors need to pay attention to cleaning when coming and going. Around the stream area, there are services for renting tents, changing rooms and camping equipment overnight. During the rainy season from June to November, the stream has a lot of water, suitable for bathing or taking photos.

"The cool water and green space here are suitable for healing," said Le Thao Nguyen, 23 years old, living in An Giang, who has visited the stream many times.

The road leading into the forest is narrow and rocky, and can be traveled by motorbike. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes to avoid slipping and bring some necessary medical equipment. Alternatively, visitors can park their vehicles at the parking lot at the foot of Cam Mountain and then walk up.

Nguyen said that this season often has heavy rain in the afternoon and evening in the stream area, so visitors should prepare raincoats. If visitors do not rent a tent to camp overnight, they should leave before 6 p.m. for easy movement. Visitors can stay overnight at accommodations around Cam Mountain, combined with sightseeing in the area.

Boat trip to take photos in Tra Su cajuput forest, An Giang

Tra Su Melaleuca Forest is located in Van Giao Commune, Tinh Bien District. The Tra Su Melaleuca Forest tourist site's information page introduces the place as a tourist attraction thanks to its lush mangrove forests and diverse wildlife typical of the river region. The flood season from September to November is the best time to experience the Melaleuca forest when water flows into the forest, helping the trees to flourish and the duckweed covering the water surface to become greener.

The entrance fee is 100,000 VND per person. In addition, visitors who want to take a boat into the forest to take pictures will buy a ticket for 50,000 VND per person. Group visitors will have a different price, you can contact the tourist area in advance to book tickets.

Ngo Thien Phat, 22 years old, from Ho Chi Minh City, traveled alone to An Giang in June and experienced a motorboat tour of the forest.

"The natural scenery with trees and birds helps me relax," Phat said.

Starting from Chau Doc city, tourists ride motorbikes on Highway 91 over Tra Su bridge. When going down the bridge, tourists will enter the gate of "Ba Chua Xu Bau Muop Temple", where there is a sign showing the way to the tourist area.

Phat added that in addition to visiting the forest, visitors can check in at the film set of "Dat Rung Phuong Nam" within the tourist area.

Walking through the wind power fields in Bac Lieu

10 km from Bac Lieu city center, Bac Lieu wind power plant (also known as Bac Lieu wind power field) is located in Vinh Trach Dong commune, Bac Lieu province.

According to the National Tourism Administration, the wind power plant is not only a symbol of clean and sustainable energy development, but also a tourist attraction in Bac Lieu. Walking in the middle of the wind power field, visitors will have the experience of walking in the middle of Europe. The entire field has 62 80-meter-high turbines with blades rotating continuously in the wind.

Tran Ho Lam, 22 years old, Vinh Long, experienced visiting Bac Lieu wind power field during his solo trip in 2023. The vast space of the wind power field makes tourists fascinated and passionate about taking photos.

Lam suggests visitors should come between 6am and 8am or after 4pm. Before arriving, visitors should wear protective clothing and apply sunscreen. The entrance fee to the park is 30,000 VND per person.
