Krong Buk Commune: Organizing classes to teach gong playing and traditional musical instruments

The People's Committee of Krong Buk commune has just organized a class to teach gong playing and traditional musical instruments to nearly 30 students who are ethnic minority youth in the locality.

During the course, from October 24th to November 30th, 2025, students will be introduced by artisans to the structure and sound principles of some traditional musical instruments of the Ede ethnic group, such as the Knah gong, ding buôt, ding năm, ki pah, etc.; and how to play the Knah gong.

After mastering the gong-playing techniques, trainees will practice several gong pieces such as: the ceremonial gong, the resonant gong, the welcoming gong, the waterfall piece, the wine-offering dance, etc.

Students attend the opening ceremony of the class teaching gong playing and traditional musical instruments.

The class for teaching gong playing and traditional musical instruments is organized according to Decision No. 318/QD-UBND, dated September 27, 2025, of the People's Committee of Krong Buk commune on the implementation of Project 06 "Preserving and promoting the valuable traditional culture of ethnic minority areas associated with tourism development" under the National Target Program for socio -economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the commune in 2025.

This is the third class on playing gongs and traditional musical instruments organized by Krông Búk commune in 2025. The class aims to preserve and promote the valuable traditional culture of ethnic minorities in the locality; improve the material and spiritual lives of the people, especially ethnic minorities; and contribute to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development tasks and goals of the commune, the development of culture and people in Krông Búk in particular, and the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people in general.
