The first Phu Thuong Ward Sports Festival, held today (October 26), attracted more than 1,000 athletes.

The event was organized to contribute to promoting the mass sports movement, improving the health and spiritual life of the people, and aiming towards the goal of building a comprehensively developed Phu Thuong people in the new era.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Thuong Ward, Do Dinh Son, emphasized: The first Ward Sports Festival is a special event, marking a new stage of development for the mass sports movement after the ward was officially established under the new administrative model.

This sports festival is an opportunity to encourage and inspire the sporting spirit in every citizen, every agency, unit, and residential area; at the same time, to discover and nurture young talents, and prepare athletes to represent the ward at the city-level sports festival.

The Games featured over 1,000 athletes competing in eight disciplines: men's football, table tennis, badminton, chess, Chinese chess, volleyball, swimming, and a sports parade.

The competitions within the framework of the Games will take place from October to November 2025. The closing ceremony and awards presentation will be held solemnly to honor the teams and individuals who have achieved high results, further affirming the role and value of the sports movement in social life.

With the spirit of "Being healthy to build and protect the Fatherland," the first Phu Thuong Ward Sports Festival - 2025 is not only a celebration of health, solidarity, and aspirations for progress, but also a symbol of the vibrant energy of a new Phu Thuong - dynamic, rich in tradition, pioneering in building a cultural and civilized urban life, contributing to the sustainable development of the ward and Hanoi Capital.
