According to Dak Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company , the water level of Dak Mi 4 hydropower reservoir at 11:00 AM on October 26th was 256.27m. The inflow into the reservoir was 3,689.34 m³ /s; the outflow for power generation was 109.25 m³ /s; and the outflow from the spillway was 2,228.06 m³ /s.
Hydropower plants will increase the regulated flow through the sluice gates; operating to reduce flooding downstream with a total discharge volume less than the total inflow into the reservoir.
When the reservoir water level reaches the normal water level (+258m), the discharge flow will equal the inflow to maintain the reservoir water level at the normal level. The expected start time for operation is 11:30 AM on October 26, 2025; the expected regulated flow through the spillway is 500 m³ /s to 4,500 m³ /s.
* On October 26th, Song Bung Hydropower Company announced a change in the operating mode of the Song Bung 4 hydropower reservoir.
According to the announcement, the water level of the Song Bung 4 hydroelectric reservoir at 10:00 AM this morning was 215.56m; the inflow was 281.56 m³ /s.
The enterprise will operate and regulate the Song Bung 4 hydropower reservoir to ensure that the water level does not exceed the lowest flood-receiving level of 216m, as stipulated in Official Letter No. 131, dated October 26, 2025, from the Da Nang City Civil Defense Command.
The operation will begin at 2 PM on October 26th. The expected regulated discharge rate is 50 - 700 m³ /s. When the reservoir water level reaches 216m, the total downstream flow will be greater than or equal to the inflow to the reservoir to ensure that the reservoir water level does not exceed the lowest flood control level of 216m.
During operation, if the water inflow into the Song Bung 4 hydropower reservoir exceeds 700 m³ /s, flood control for the downstream area will be implemented according to Procedure 1865.
