Dak Mi 4 and Song Bung 4 hydropower plants announce water regulation operations

Dak Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company said that the water level of Dak Mi 4 hydropower reservoir at 11:00 a.m. on October 26 was 256.27 m. The amount of water flowing into the reservoir was 3,689.34 ^{m 3} /s; the water flow running the machine was 109.25 ^{m 3} /s; the overflow water flow was 2,228.06 ^{m 3} /s.

Hydropower will increase the regulated flow through the supply gate; operate flood reduction for downstream with the total discharged water flow being smaller than the total water flow to the lake.

When the lake water level reaches the normal water level (+258m), the discharge flow will be operated at the same rate as the flow to the lake to maintain the lake water level at the normal water level. The expected start time of operation is 11:30 a.m. on October 26, 2025; the expected regulated flow through the spillway is: 500m ³ /s to 4,500m ³ /s.

* On October 26, Song Bung Hydropower Company announced the change of operating mode of Song Bung 4 Hydropower Reservoir.

According to the announcement, the water level of Song Bung 4 hydropower reservoir at 10:00 a.m. this morning was 215.56 m; water flow was 281.56 m ³ /s.

The enterprise will operate and regulate the Song Bung 4 hydropower reservoir to ensure that the reservoir water level is not higher than the lowest flood level of 216m according to Official Dispatch No. 131, dated October 26, 2025 of the Civil Defense Command of Da Nang City.

Operation start time is 2:00 p.m. on October 26. Estimated regulated discharge flow is 50 - 700 ^m3 /s. When the reservoir water level reaches 216m, operate with total downstream flow greater than or equal to the reservoir flow to ensure the reservoir water level does not exceed the lowest flood level of 216m.

During operation, if the water flow to Song Bung 4 hydropower reservoir is greater than ^700m3 /s, flood reduction operations for downstream areas will be carried out according to Procedure 1865.
