On May 29, Hoa Binh General Hospital reported a mass poisoning case after eating rocket crocodile eggs that caused 6 young people to be hospitalized for emergency treatment.

According to Dr. Hoang Cong Tinh, Head of the Intensive Care Unit 1, Hoa Binh General Hospital, before being admitted to the emergency room, this group of young men had processed a 10 kg crocodile (ornamental fish) into food. The fish body was processed into a steamed fish dish, and the fish eggs were used to cook with fermented rice for the whole family and some acquaintances to eat together.

Afterwards, those who ate the steamed fish showed no abnormal health symptoms.

The Lepisosteus osseus, scientifically known as Lepisosteus osseus, is a freshwater fish native to the Americas. Some families often raise Lepisosteus osseus as ornamental fish. Some studies show that the eggs and intestines of the Lepisosteus osseus contain toxins that directly affect the digestive, nervous and cardiovascular systems of humans. In experiments, mice that ate Lepisosteus osseus eggs died.
