According to the report of Long Xuyen City People's Committee, there are currently a total of 15,452 production and business establishments in the city. Of these, there are 932 industrial establishments; 7,235 commercial establishments; 44 construction establishments; 627 transportation and warehouse establishments; 3,424 food service establishments; 18 traditional markets with about 6,000 small traders and 2 commercial centers, 2 shopping centers, 4 supermarkets, 30 convenience stores, about 20 pharmaceutical companies, and over 400 pharmaceutical practice establishments.

In recent times, Long Xuyen City has regularly inspected, supervised, and fought to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the area. In particular, it focuses on inspecting food production, processing, and trading establishments, production and trading of essential goods serving people's lives, especially dairy products, medicines, pharmaceuticals, health protection foods, etc. It focuses on controlling key production and import establishments, markets, supermarkets, and convenience stores. At the same time, it coordinates with functional agencies to strictly inspect and control smuggling, counterfeit goods, goods that do not ensure quality, and expired goods; inspect the quality of goods, compliance with legal regulations on national technical standards and regulations, and the announcement of product quality standards and food safety.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested units, departments, and localities to consider the work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in the area as a regular, continuous, and non-stop task. The People's Committee of Long Xuyen City urgently and fully implements the Prime Minister 's directives and telegrams; instructions and conclusions of the Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee on the work of preventing and combating trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Working groups and interdisciplinary inspection teams of Long Xuyen City strengthen the direction and conduct surprise and continuous inspections to fight, prevent, and repel smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods crimes in the area.
