On July 27, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province announced that 65 delegations (including 16 foreign delegations) with a total of about 1,200 martial artists and students have registered to participate in the 8th International Festival of Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts - 2023. This festival will take place from August 2 to August 5.
The first official activity of the festival is the incense and flower offering ceremony at the statue of Emperor Quang Trung and the Tay Son Tam Kiet temple (belonging to the Quang Trung Museum, Tay Son District, Binh Dinh) on the morning of August 2.

The opening ceremony of the 8th International Festival of Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts took place on the evening of August 2 at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, Quy Nhon City (Binh Dinh). The opening ceremony's art program had the theme "Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts - Aspiration to Reach Far" with the participation of about 400 artisans, artists, actors, singers, martial artists, martial artists from Binh Dinh province, along with domestic and international martial arts troupes.
On August 3, the martial arts exchange program combined with sightseeing between domestic and foreign martial arts groups and representatives of typical martial arts schools in Binh Dinh province. The program was organized in Tay Son district (temple of Grand Tutor Vo Van Dung), Tuy Phuoc district (Martial Arts Club of Long Phuoc pagoda), Phu Cat district (Thien Hung - Cat Tien Zen monastery) and An Nhon town (Thien Hung pagoda).
On August 4, an exchange program was held between domestic and foreign martial arts groups at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, Quy Nhon City.
The workshop on solutions to promote the development of Vietnamese traditional martial arts took place on August 3 and 4 at the Binh Dinh Provincial Convention Center (Quy Nhon City).

The closing ceremony of the festival took place on the evening of August 5 at the Binh Dinh Provincial Convention Center.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, the 8th International Festival of Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts is an opportunity for domestic and international martial arts groups to meet, exchange and discuss the work of preserving and promoting Vietnamese traditional martial arts in general and Binh Dinh traditional martial arts in particular in the country and around the world. Thereby, moving towards building a dossier to submit to UNESCO to recognize Binh Dinh traditional martial arts as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
