On July 31, the Ministry of Public Security reported that in the first 7 months of the year, there were 112 traffic accidents on highways, killing 46 people and injuring 82. Of these, more than 57% of the traffic accidents occurred between 6pm and 6am the next morning.

The causes of accidents are due to drivers not paying attention, not keeping a safe distance from the vehicle in front, driving in the wrong lane, not obeying traffic signs... In addition, the traffic infrastructure on some highways is still inadequate.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, to ensure traffic order and safety on expressways, the traffic police force will advise the Ministry of Public Security to direct the promotion of remote and early prevention solutions to prevent the causes of traffic accidents; perform basic professional work well in combination with patrolling and control; implement the Law on Traffic Order and Safety; research and develop strong enough deterrent sanctions to maintain traffic order and safety; strengthen modernization, gradually shifting from manual to technological...
