On the evening of January 24, in Beijing, the Vietnamese Embassy in China and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries jointly organized a solemn ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2025).
Attending the ceremony, on the Chinese side were Comrade Li Hongzhong - Politburo member, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC, i.e. the National People's Congress of China), President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Yang Wanming, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong, Deputy Secretary General of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Hu Xiaoli, Assistant Head of the Central Foreign Liaison Committee Zhao Shitong, former Ambassadors and Consuls General of China in Vietnam, along with many representatives of ministries, branches, localities, friendship figures, veterans who participated in helping Vietnam in the resistance war against the US, representatives of enterprises, universities, reporters of Chinese news agencies and newspapers. A number of ambassadors, charge d'affaires of foreign countries, and representatives of diplomatic corps in Beijing attended. On the Vietnamese side, there were Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh, along with all staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in China, representatives of agencies, organizations, businesses, overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students in China.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh reviewed the important milestones in the bilateral relationship over the past 75 years, recalling the years when the people of the two countries stood side by side, supported and helped each other in the revolutionary cause of national liberation and the construction and development of each country; emphasizing the good meaning of the friendship "both comrades and brothers" between the two countries.
The Ambassador said that since the normalization of relations in 1991, the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries has been continuously promoted to new heights, achieving many important achievements and milestones. The historic mutual visits of the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries in recent times have oriented the promotion of Vietnam - China relations to a new, comprehensive and sustainable development stage, following the "6 more" orientation. In 2024, bilateral trade continued to reach a new peak, exceeding 200 billion USD according to Vietnam's statistics; Vietnam has now become China's 4th largest trading partner in the world . In terms of investment, China has so far risen to become the 3rd largest foreign investor in Vietnam, with a total registered capital of more than 31.8 billion USD. In addition, people-to-people exchanges, tourism and cultural cooperation between the two countries have taken place very vigorously.

Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh emphasized that the past 75 years have proven that the continuous consolidation and development of Vietnam-China relations is completely in line with the aspirations and fundamental, long-term interests of the people of the two countries, and is of great significance to the sustainable development of the two countries, as well as peace, stability and development of the region and the world.
In the coming time, the two sides need to continue to fully and effectively implement the agreements and common perceptions between the two Parties and two countries, further deepen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, promote the building of a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, bring practical benefits to the people of the two countries, and actively contribute to the cause of peace and progress of mankind.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress of China Li Hongzhong expressed that over the past 75 years, China-Vietnam relations have overcome challenges, become increasingly sustainable, and gained many valuable experiences. Under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, China-Vietnam relations have entered a new era of building a Community of Shared Future of strategic significance; emphasizing high-level orientation and strategic trust as the most fundamental guarantee for the development of bilateral relations, common aspirations as the most prominent feature of bilateral relations, and people-based, mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation as the most important driving force for the development of bilateral relations.
Affirming that China is willing to work with Vietnam to well implement the common perception between the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, well organize activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of China-Vietnam diplomatic relations, promote comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two sides in the direction of "6 more", contribute to the building of the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future as well as the cause of socialist modernization of each country.
President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Yang Wanming expressed that China is willing to join Vietnam in taking the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the Year of Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange as an opportunity to translate the strategic orientation and common perception of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries into concrete actions, promote the special role of people-to-people exchange in the overall relations between the two countries, and build more bridges of friendship for the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
Sharing the joyful atmosphere of "being both comrades and brothers" at the ceremony, art troupes from the two countries performed many performances imbued with the unique cultural and artistic features of the two nations, highlighting the good feelings and friendship between Vietnam and China.
