According to Reuters (UK), citing a report from the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention ( Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development ), the number of people killed by floods and landslides in the Central region has increased to 55, with 13 people missing as of the morning of November 22. Rainfall in many areas exceeded 1,900 mm in just one week - an unusual number even for an area that is often hit by natural disasters. The news agency further emphasized that this is not only a key coffee production and tourism area of Vietnam but also a place that regularly suffers from strong storms and floods.

From Europe, the German media group DW quoted Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung as saying that local authorities have mobilized maximum military, police and security forces to evacuate people from dangerous areas. Many specialized vehicles, from boats, ships to helicopters, have been deployed to reach areas cut off by heavy floods.
Channel News Asia (Singapore) described that rescue teams had to approach each household, even breaking windows or roofs to rescue trapped people.
In Australia, ABC News on November 22 rebroadcast images recorded by VTV1, showing the evacuation scene at night and the relentless efforts of rescue forces despite adverse weather.
International media outlets have unanimously praised Vietnam’s prompt and decisive response to natural disasters. The government has approved an emergency relief package worth VND700 billion for severely damaged provinces, while the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels has mobilized more than VND2,800 billion as of 12:00 on November 22 to support people in overcoming the consequences.
Many international press organizations and agencies have recognized Vietnam’s timely response, close direction, and effective mobilization and coordination of forces in this disaster. According to major news agencies, this is a clear demonstration of Vietnam’s disaster response capacity, solidarity, and commitment to protecting people’s safety from the increasingly serious impacts of climate change.
Along with domestic efforts, international media also acknowledged the prompt support from the international community. The Diplomat (US) magazine reported that UNICEF, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and partners from the US, EU, Japan, Korea, Australia, etc. have deployed emergency aid, including essential goods, financial resources and human resources to support the most severely affected areas. The coordination between the Vietnamese Government and international organizations is assessed as flexible, timely and bringing practical results to people in flood-affected areas.
