9 teams participated in the Fire Fighting and Rescue Competition

On the morning of May 19, at the square of Lao Cai City Convention Center, the Provincial People's Committee organized a Fire Fighting and Rescue Competition for the "Fire Prevention and Fighting Inter-family Team" of the province in 2024.

Attending the opening ceremony of the contest were Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Contest Organizing Committee; Colonel Hoang Manh Hung, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, Deputy Head of the Contest Organizing Committee; leaders of a number of departments, branches and localities in the province.

In order to evaluate the results of the fire prevention and fighting movement in residential areas after 3 years of building the model of "Fire Prevention and Fighting Inter-Family Group" and "Public Fire Fighting Point", the Provincial People's Committee organized a Fire Fighting and Rescue Competition for the "Fire Prevention and Fighting Inter-Family Group" in 2024.

The competition was attended by 117 athletes and coaches from 9 teams of "Fire Prevention and Fighting Inter-family Teams" that achieved the highest results in the district-level competition, representing 499 inter-family teams in the province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest emphasized: In recent times, nationwide, the situation of fires and explosions has been complicated, especially in the type of houses and houses combined with production, business, industrial parks, markets, restaurants, karaoke bars... causing great damage to property, health and lives of people. In response to this situation, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee issued Directive No. 38 dated July 24, 2023 on continuing to strengthen the Party's leadership in fire prevention, fighting, rescue and relief work in the province. The Provincial People's Committee also requested all levels, sectors and localities to strictly implement the directions of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government and the Ministry of Public Security on fire prevention, fighting, rescue and relief work, including promoting propaganda, dissemination and education of laws, technical skills on fire prevention, fighting and relief for members of households belonging to the "Fire Prevention and Fighting Inter-Family Group". The contest is an opportunity for people of all walks of life to exchange, meet, share and learn about legal knowledge, fire prevention and fighting and relief skills, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in the Movement "All people participate in fire prevention and fighting" in Lao Cai province.

In order for the contest to achieve its goals and requirements, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested each member of the organizing committee and the sub-committees to fulfill their roles and responsibilities well; the teams and contestants must demonstrate their determination to unite and win, strictly follow the rules of the Organizing Committee, and achieve high results.

The contest is a practical activity to promote and improve the effectiveness of the model of "Fire prevention and fighting inter-family safety group", improve knowledge and skills in handling fire and explosion incidents, rescuing people and property; effectively implementing the motto "4 on-site" in handling fire and explosion situations.
