After contestant Thae Su Nyein (representing Myanmar) left after the final night and was absent from the organization's first press conference, the National Director of the Miss Grand Myanmar organization criticized the Miss Grand 2024 competition for being unfair. The President of the Miss Grand organization, Mr. Nawat, has issued an official response.
On the afternoon of October 27, speaking to reporters, Mr. Nawat stated that he would sever ties with the National Director of Miss Grand Myanmar, Soe Min Tun, because "he lacks sportsmanship and credibility."
During a livestream on October 26th, Soe Min Tun revealed that Nawat suggested that Myanmar pay $25,000 (over 630 million VND) to buy the Country's Power of the Year award. The award subsequently went to the representative from Thailand.
When asked about the case of Thae Su Nyein, Mr. Nawat said he wanted to give her one last chance. He is waiting for a definitive answer from the Myanmar representative regarding whether or not she will retain the title of 2nd Runner-up. If the Myanmar beauty accepts the assignment, she will have her first business trip to Phuket (Thailand) soon.

Previously, in a livestream on October 26th, the National Director of Miss Grand Myanmar, Soe Min Tun, announced the return of the 2nd runner-up crown to Thae Su Nyein. Soe Min Tun also asserted that the Miss Grand competition was not fulfilling its mission and was only concerned with commercial matters.
Currently, on the Miss Grand International fan page, they only introduce the 9 beauties who won the titles of Miss Grand International and runner-up at this year's competition; the second runner-up, Thae Su Nyein, is not included.
Also on the afternoon of October 27th, Thae Su Nyein held her first official livestream to explain everything. The beauty queen stated that she cherishes the title of 2nd Runner-up and is not at all upset about not winning the Miss Universe title.
The beauty queen said she cried after the final night because she regretted the efforts of her team and fans back home in Myanmar. They had actively voted for and supported her throughout the competition, from the beginning of the season to the final night.

Regarding Soe Min Tun's actions of scolding reporters, as shown in some videos posted online, Thae Su Nyein stated that he acted because some people were trying to approach her and could endanger her. Ultimately, the beauty queen believes that the National Director of Miss Grand Myanmar only wanted to protect her.
Regarding rumors surrounding Thae Su Nyein's inexplicable, frustrated, and tearful behavior during the national costume performance, the Myanmar beauty queen stated that she was fully immersed in the performance and was slightly disappointed that she couldn't fully convey the team's vision on stage. She affirmed that the team had put a lot of effort into the national costume for this year's competition.
Finally, the 17-year-old beauty declared that she was the youngest contestant in this year's competition and came to the contest with the intention of spreading positive energy and encouraging young people to dare to pursue their dreams and challenge themselves. From the very beginning of the competition in Cambodia, Mr. Nawat and the Miss Grand Peace Cambodia team had numerous conflicts. As a result, Mr. Nawat brought the contestant back to Thailand to continue the competition, while the Cambodian beauty queen withdrew.
Prior to the semi-finals, Mr. Nawat and the Miss Grand International organizing committee were accused by a beauty queen of unprofessionalism, irresponsibility, and exploiting her labor.
