Adelaide University: A new global education icon of Australia

Adelaide University has officially entered the Top 100 universities in the world (No. 82 in the latest QS World University Rankings), marking the emergence of a new icon in global education - this is the youngest member of the Group of 8, a group of 8 prestigious Australian universities.

QS World University Rankings is the most prestigious and widely used university ranking in the world - published by the UK-based education organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

The new university – built on the shared expertise and achievements of the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia – has established itself in the global top 1% and is one of the best of more than 15,000 universities worldwide .

In 151 years, the University of Adelaide has educated five of Australia's 15 Nobel Prize winners, more than 100 Rhodes Scholars and made outstanding scientific contributions to space and time.

The University of South Australia was the first university in Australia to use crowdsourcing to develop a global strategy, while also collaborating on the development of a thin-film recycled coffee cup and contributing to the production of the world’s first shatterproof mirror.

University of the future

The University of Adelaide offers a fresh approach to integrated learning, with a variety of models including internships, fieldwork, projects (incubators and start-ups), community service, simulation, apprenticeships and clinics. Students will gain the practical skills employers want, while also having the opportunity to network and build their reputation within the industry.

Adelaide alumnus Tran Thi Quang Linh has been instrumental in the construction of LEGO’s world’s first carbon neutral factory in Vietnam. A female STEM major with a passion for environmental ethics, Linh designs and implements sustainable construction methods, pioneering the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure across the country.

The University of Adelaide is building a network of more than 7,000 collaborators, 11,000 experts and researchers, and modern infrastructure to create breakthrough educational outcomes. The University aims to be Australia's most connected university.

With more than 400 advanced degrees and 1,500 specialist courses, the school trains global workforces in areas such as business, technology, engineering, sustainable development and climate change.

With the largest campus in South Australia, the University of Adelaide boasts cutting-edge facilities such as a simulated financial trading room, the largest structurally reinforced floor and the largest BigRep 3D printer in the Southern Hemisphere. The University also uses the LIEF Hexapod Robot for earthquake simulation, materials testing, maritime and aerospace platform simulation, and human health.

The University of Adelaide aims to be in the top five in Australia for student experience, connecting around 70,000 students and supporting extracurricular activities such as the Vietnamese Students’ Association. The university offers a range of scholarships for international students, from academic to young leaders.

With a lifelong learning orientation, the school empowers students to develop comprehensively through advanced programs, career support, health and community connection of more than 400,000 global alumni.

Reimagining research for global impact

The University of Adelaide is revolutionising research with the aim of creating innovations of national scale and global impact. The University leads across the entire value chain – from research, technology transfer to commercialisation.

The Ehrenberg-Bass Institute is the world's largest marketing research center, collaborating with PepsiCo, BIC, LinkedIn. ThincLab and Enterprise Hub support young entrepreneurs, while its proximity to Lot Fourteen – a leading innovation district with 160 organizations – provides an outstanding advantage for research and startups.

With ambitions to take AI to the next level, the University of Adelaide is also home to the newly established Centre for Responsible AI Research - where AI and machine learning researchers will work with scientists to explore new technologies.
