AFC sends congratulatory letter to U23 Vietnam for entering the 2026 AFC U23 Championship

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced that on September 11, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) sent a congratulatory letter to the Vietnam U23 team after they excellently won Group C and officially secured a ticket to participate in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship Finals.

On this occasion, the AFC also expressed its gratitude to the VFF for successfully organizing the matches at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho ).

Vietnam U23 team has qualified for the continental tournament finals for the sixth consecutive time.

In Group C, Vietnam U23 started with a 2-0 victory over Bangladesh U23, followed by a 1-0 win against Singapore U23 and Yemen U23.

With three wins out of three matches, scoring four goals and conceding none, the Vietnam U23 team qualified for the finals as group winners.

In the letter, the AFC praised the tenacious fighting spirit and dedication of the Vietnamese U23 players throughout the qualifying campaign, affirming that the team's perfect record is proof of serious preparation and the character of a highly ambitious group.

Besides congratulating the team, the AFC also thanked the VFF and the local organizing committee of Phu Tho province for their cooperation in successfully organizing the Group C qualifying round, which took place from September 3rd to 9th, 2025 at Viet Tri Stadium.

The AFC emphasized the dedication, professionalism, and tireless efforts of the VFF and local authorities in delivering a safe and well-organized tournament, leaving a positive impression on AFC officials, participating teams, and fans.
