Opening the press conference, the South Korean coach couldn't hide his satisfaction: "We are very happy to have won against the U22 Philippines and advanced to the final. I am truly proud that the players fought until the very last minute, never giving up. Congratulations to the whole team and thank you to the fans in the stadium as well as the supporters in Vietnam who have always followed and cheered us on. That support has given us extra strength. Both teams tried their best, and today, we were the luckier team."
Evaluating his players' performance, coach Kim Sang-sik offered special praise. “If I were to rate them on a scale of 100, I would give the players 100 points, even 120 points, for the physical preparation, mental fortitude, and fighting spirit they displayed,” he emphasized.
Speaking about striker Nguyen Dinh Bac – who was voted Man of the Match for the third consecutive time – Coach Kim Sang-sik praised his player's progressive spirit: “I thank Dinh Bac for playing very hard and creating positive energy for the whole team. Before the match, I had a private conversation with him and reminded him not to be complacent with what he has achieved but to aim for higher goals. Dinh Bac showed that spirit. He has experience playing in the V.League and I encourage him to continue challenging himself in higher environments such as Europe, Japan or the K-League.”
In addition, coach Kim Sang-sik also praised Le Van Thuan, the player who opened the scoring for Vietnam U22. “I always appreciate Van Thuan's ability to handle situations on his own. He has the qualities of a star player. Before the match, I asked Van Thuan not only to stay on the wing but also to penetrate the penalty area more often. I was really surprised and happy when he scored with a header,” he shared.
