The “Homeland” Food Festival is a gathering place for 20 booths to process, display, introduce and serve delicious and unique dishes with the rich flavors of the regions of Dong Hoi, Quang Binh people to tourists from all over the world, focusing on promoting Dong Hoi seafood specialties. In addition, the festival will also introduce new culinary flavors that are popular in the city recently so that visitors have the opportunity to enjoy more specialties when coming to Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh .
“Of the 20 food stalls, there are 8 fixed restaurants in the Bao Ninh Sea Square expanded to the North. With socialized funding, the Organizing Committee installed additional stalls with suitable arrangements for restaurant owners to display and serve people and tourists to enjoy food and drinks…”, said Director of Dong Hoi City Public Service Management Board Tran Duy Khanh.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang, owner of the restaurant "Red-haired Spring" specializing in seafood (1 of 8 permanent stalls in the "Homeland's Fragrance" culinary festival) said: "The restaurant has mobilized 8-10 more staff to attentively serve locals and tourists during the festival. In an area closely associated with the sea, boats dock every day, so there are always abundant and fresh seafood available, such as: fish, squid, clams, black snakes, scallops, lobsters, crabs, etc. With the initiative of fresh seafood sources, ensuring food safety, plus many years of experience and methods of preparing seafood dishes, the restaurant is capable of serving 350-400 guests/day".
In addition to seafood specialties, the festival also has booths introducing rustic dishes that are no less flavorful than the rusticity of the land and people here, such as: Banh beo, banh loc, banh nam...
Famous for the traditional banh beo with the brand name “Ngoc Suong” (Dong Son ward, Dong Hoi city), Mr. Dinh Pham Gia Dung, the owner of the restaurant shared: “Participating and serving tourists from all over the world at the “Huong que” culinary festival is a joy and honor for me and my family. Coming to the “Ngoc Suong” banh beo restaurant, visitors will enjoy and learn more about the banh beo dish refined from rice grains in the “Hai gioi” homeland. Although the dish is simple, the preparation steps are elaborate and require meticulousness. Therefore, to serve visitors with banh beo, banh loc, trung lut, etc., in addition to the staff at the restaurant, the family has mobilized a large number of home-made processing staff, ready to meet the needs of visitors when needed”.
In particular, on the night of April 30, right on the stage of the festival, there will be a music program titled “Hello brilliant summer”. Lively performances from bands, singers, and dance groups will create a vibrant space, bringing to the people and visitors a colorful and novel music space.
“In order for the “Huong Que” food festival to take place safely and successfully, the City People's Committee has assigned tasks to local units and functional branches to arrange forces to strengthen the work of ensuring security, order and traffic safety in the area where the activities take place; inspect the work of ensuring food safety and hygiene and deploy the signing of commitments to ensure food safety and hygiene for booths at the food festival; maintain and operate well the decorative electrical system along the coast; have a plan to arrange and keep vehicles reasonably, ensure order and beauty in the festival area; increase garbage collection thoroughly during peak days to ensure environmental sanitation and urban beauty in the Bao Ninh Sea Square area”, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Hoang Thi Thanh Nhung added.
20 booths, including: 8 booths of Dong Hoi City seafood specialties; 4 booths of other specialties of Quang Binh, such as: Chao canh, banh loc, banh beo, banh xeo Ba Don, banh duc, banh khoai, oc khe, Le Thuy duck eggs, Son river carp, Ba Don blood cockles...; 4 booths of specialties from other regions, such as: Bun cha ca, Quang noodles, bun mam, bun nghe, bun dau, porridge eel, Con Dao coconut ice cream; 2 booths displaying various dried specialties, such as: One-sun dried squid, dried shrimp, dried squid, dried fish, fish sauce, shrimp paste, dried sweet potatoes, peanut candy... and souvenir products; 1 booth of soft drinks; 1 booth introducing Ngoc Linh ginseng products. |
