Actively and proactively prepare facilities and conditions for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam
In recent years, the High School Graduation Exam in An Giang has achieved many results, with good scores, high passing rates, for many consecutive years being in the top 10 provinces and cities with the best results in the country and always leading the Mekong Delta. The province's annual graduation rate always surpasses the national average, a bright spot highly appreciated by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the Provincial People's Committee.
The 2025 exam has many changes according to the new regulations issued in Circular 24/2024/TT-BGDDT and Instruction 1239/BGDDT-QLCL, dated March 24, 2025 of the Ministry of Education and Training , so the province has quickly identified the challenges and opportunities to have thorough preparation. One of the notable new points is the organization of exams for candidates under the 2006 and 2018 General Education Programs in the same session, but arranged at separate exam locations. Specifically, candidates under the 2006 General Education Program will take the exam at the Trieu Thi Trinh Secondary School exam location. For candidates under the 2018 Program, the number of exam sessions is shortened from 4 to 3, and the number of exam subjects is also reduced by 2 subjects compared to the old program. This requires the arrangement of exam locations, exam rooms and exam invigilators to be scientifically and reasonably calculated to ensure there is no confusion and to create the best conditions for both groups of candidates.
Another important change is that from 2025 onwards, priority points will no longer be given to vocational certificates, IT, foreign languages or vocational secondary school certificates when considering graduation recognition, applicable to all candidates, including those in the continuingeducation system. On the contrary, the regulation on exemption from foreign language exams for candidates with valid foreign language certificates and exemption from the Literature exam for foreign candidates with Vietnamese language certificates as prescribed requires strict verification and management of certificate records. The Department of Education and Training needs to have specific instructions for schools in receiving, checking and comparing these types of certificates to ensure accuracy and fairness for all candidates.
In particular, this year's exam paper delivery method has a breakthrough change when using the Government Cipher Committee's encrypted transmission system. This is an important step forward in security and exam organization, helping to deliver original exam papers quickly, promptly and safely, while reducing manpower and time compared to traditional delivery methods.
Realizing the new points and importance of the exam, the Department of Education and Training has proactively implemented many key tasks to best prepare the facilities and necessary conditions. Accordingly, the Department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a directive to direct the organization of the exam, establish a Provincial Steering Committee for the exam and issue detailed instructions on the preparation and checking of exam registration documents for candidates. The review work for grade 12 students is closely directed, ensuring the provision of adequate knowledge and skills according to program standards, especially the 2018 General Education Program. The Department has also organized training sessions on exam organization and exam management software for officials and teachers of units, and at the same time guided candidates to register for the exam online in accordance with regulations.
Regarding the preparation of facilities, the Department of Education and Training has directed high schools and examination sites to review, upgrade and supplement necessary equipment such as examination rooms, tables and chairs, lighting, fans, electricity and water systems and other supporting equipment. In particular, with the organization of exams for 2 programs in parallel, arranging enough separate examination rooms for each group of candidates is an important task. According to statistics, the whole province is expected to have 48 official examination sites and 1 backup examination site, with 1,053 examination rooms, an increase of 2 examination sites compared to 2024, showing the initiative in expanding the scale to meet the new requirements of the exam.
Long Xuyen High School, one of the schools with a large number of candidates in the province, has proactively implemented measures to prepare facilities in a positive manner. Mr. Truong Son, Principal of the school, said: "Regarding the preparation of facilities, means of information and communication at the examination site, the arrangement of examination rooms... all ensure to meet the requirements of the 2025 High School Graduation Exam". The school also held a meeting for parents of grade 12 students to announce the study results and disseminate the regulations for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, especially emphasizing the new points of the exam. Detailed information is also posted on the school's electronic information portal and the Ministry of Education and Training's admission information page, and is also sent to students via the school and class Zalo groups.
In addition, Long Xuyen High School also focuses on supporting students in difficult circumstances, students who live far from the exam location or have to travel by ferry during the exam period to have a place to rest and eat. The school has made a specific list to have a timely support plan. Medical work and food safety and hygiene are also of special concern. The school has coordinated with the Long Xuyen City Medical Center to prepare epidemic prevention measures, check food safety and hygiene at the school canteen...
With the close direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the close coordination of departments, branches, localities and the initiative and responsibility of the education sector, An Giang will fully and best prepare the conditions in terms of facilities, human resources, techniques and coordination procedures so that the 2025 High School Graduation Exam takes place safely, seriously, in accordance with regulations and achieves good results; continuing to affirm the leading position of the province in the Mekong Delta region and the whole country.
