An Giang "accelerates" 21 projects to serve APEC

DNVN - According to the Department of Construction of An Giang province, after completing the planning for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050, the province has reviewed, adjusted and approved synchronous construction plans, creating a legal foundation for 21 key infrastructure and service projects serving APEC 2027.

To date, the province has issued a decision to adjust the planning of Kien Giang province (before the merger) for the period 2021 - 2030 and approved the partial adjustment of the general planning of Phu Quoc special zone until 2040, adding 23 locations to build projects serving APEC (13 locations) and other sustainable development projects (10 locations). Duong Dong 2 Lake is the last project to have completed the 1/2000 scale zoning plan, eligible to start construction this November.

Workers are working day and night to bring the project to completion soon to serve the APEC 2027 conference .

At the same time, the province also established a special working group on land and the "green channel" mechanism to remove obstacles, ensure material sources and construction progress. According to the department, group 1 includes 10 public investment projects, of which 9/9 urgent projects have been ordered to build; 8 projects are under construction, the remaining 2 projects are completing procedures. The Urban Railway Line project, section 1, has been approved by the Provincial People's Council in principle for investment, with a total capital of about 9,000 billion VND, of which state capital does not exceed 70%.

Group 2 includes 11 investment projects under the PPP and business investment methods, 7 projects have selected investors, 4 projects are in the selection stage.

Director of the Department of Construction of An Giang Province, Le Viet Bac, said that the Provincial People's Committee has started and launched 10 projects to serve APEC 2027. The remaining projects will complete procedures to start construction simultaneously this November. "In particular, Phu Quoc International Airport, constructed by Sun Group , is ahead of schedule, demonstrating the province's strong determination to carefully prepare for the APEC 2027 event," Mr. Bac informed.
