Bustling winter flight schedule at Da Nang International Airport

DNVN - Based on the flight schedules of airlines (HK), Danang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT - the unit managing and operating the T2 international terminal, Danang airport) informs about the 2025 winter flight schedule (W25) at Danang airport.

Tạp chí Doanh NghiệpTạp chí Doanh Nghiệp10/11/2025

AHT Company said that the 2025 winter flight schedule (W25) at Da Nang airport includes 22 weeks (from October 26, 2025 to March 28, 2026) with a total output of 21,061 arrivals and departures (including 10,531 arrivals and 10,530 departures); an average of 136 arrivals and departures/day.

Danang airport's international terminal T2 is splendidly decorated every Christmas.

Peak days (19, 28 and 31/12/2025; 13, 21 and 22/2/2026) operate 146 arrivals and departures/day, an increase of 7.3% compared to the average daily volume of W25. Peak month is February 2026, operating an average of 142 arrivals and departures/day, an increase of 4.4% compared to the average daily volume of W25.

According to AHT, the end of October and November 2025 is the beginning of winter, with low volumes (about 121 flights/day in late October and 130 flights/day in November). The slight increase in November reflects pre-festival travel demand in Thailand and India, but overall it is not yet peak season.

From December 2025 to January 2026, the number of flights will increase sharply (an average of 140 flights/day) thanks to the Christmas and New Year holidays, when the demand for tourism and visiting relatives of passengers from Korea, Japan, Singapore, and the Philippines increases. The period after that will remain high when workers and international students begin to return home to prepare for the Lunar New Year.

Regarding February 2026 being the peak month for W25 (142 flights/day), AHT said that Lunar New Year 2026 falls on February 17, so flights to/from Korea, China, Vietnam, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia will increase dramatically about 1 week before and after Tet. This is the time when Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese communities return to their hometowns to reunite, causing the number of passengers to increase even more than during Christmas.

In March 2026, after the Tet holiday, travel demand cooled down, the number of trips dropped to 136/day, then decreased slightly when the holiday season ended. Therefore, monthly fluctuations are mainly associated with major holidays such as Christmas, New Year and especially Lunar New Year in operating countries.

AHT also said that there are 35 airlines operating W25 at Da Nang airport, a decrease of 4 airlines compared to the 2025 summer flight schedule (S25). Of which, two new airlines, Parata Airlines (WE), are expected to operate from November 17 with a frequency of 1 flight/day using A330 aircraft (294) on the route Incheon - Da Nang - Incheon (arrival time 21:10, departure time 22:40).

The second airline, Thai Lion Air (SL), plans to operate two charter flights on December 31, 2025 and January 3, 2026 using B737 aircraft (215 seats) on the Don Mueang - Da Nang - Don Mueang route (arrival time 7:40, departure time 8:30).

Director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center Nguyen Thi Hong Tham noted that during the peak period from December 2025 to February 2026, there will be an average of 140-142 flights/day to and from Da Nang airport due to the sharp increase in international tourism demand in key markets such as South Korea, Japan, Singapore and the Philippines, thanks to the Christmas and New Year holidays.

This is also the time to step up promotional activities, advertising and market connection, especially in Northeast Asian and Southeast Asian countries with high flight frequency and tourism demand during the year-end holiday season. To effectively exploit new potential markets, there needs to be a specific action plan with a new communication theme: "New Da Nang - New Experience" along with policies to promote and advertise destinations to support the opening of flight routes.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, this will be the "key lever" to help Da Nang tourism industry achieve its growth targets in 2026. Specifically, the number of visitors is expected to reach 19.5 million (up 12% compared to 2025). Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach more than 8.9 million (up 17%), domestic visitors are about 10.6 million (up 8% compared to the same period in 2025). Total revenue from accommodation, food and tourism in 2026 is expected to reach more than 71 trillion VND, equivalent to an increase of 19% compared to 2025.
