Special publication on the rare loyal friendship between Vietnam and Cuba

On November 12, 2025, in Hanoi, the Truth National Political Publishing House coordinated with the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam to organize the launching ceremony of the book 65 years of cultivating the loyal and exemplary friendship between Vietnam and Cuba. This is an important publication, deeply reflecting the special, loyal, pure and rare friendship in international relations - a symbol of the times and a priceless asset of the two Parties and peoples of the two countries.

This is an important publication, deeply reflecting the special, loyal, pure and rare friendship in international relations - a symbol of the times and a priceless asset of the two Parties and peoples.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Member of the Party Executive Committee of the Central Party Agencies, Party Secretary, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House Truth and Comrade Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam chaired the ceremony.

Over the past 65 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025), the loyal and exemplary relationship between the two peoples, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro, has always been diligently cultivated by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, overcoming all the ups and downs of history and remaining strong until today, as President Ho Chi Minh affirmed: "Vietnam and Cuba are thousands of miles apart, but the hearts of the people of our two countries are very close like brothers in the same family".

Imbued with his teachings, Vietnam always affirms that "solidarity and support for Cuba is the conscience and responsibility of communists and all Vietnamese people", the tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking", and the morality of loyalty to friends, comrades and brothers.

In order to enhance information and propaganda about the meaning, importance and development of the traditional solidarity and special friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, the two countries' senior leaders agreed to identify 2025 as the "Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Year".

On this occasion, the Truth National Political Publishing House in collaboration with the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam compiled and published the book 65 years of cultivating the loyal and exemplary friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, richly and vividly reflecting the important historical marks that have fostered the special, exemplary, and rare solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.

The book has a capacity of more than 200 large-sized pages, synthesizing many valuable sources of documents and images, including three main parts:

Part 1: President Ho Chi Minh - President Fidel Castro: The people who laid the historical foundation for the Vietnam - Cuba relationship.

Part two: 65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship, a special and exemplary solidarity relationship.

Part three: Imprints of historic visits by Vietnamese and Cuban leaders.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House, emphasized that today, in the context of many changes in the world, the special and loyal friendship between the two countries is a solid foundation for Vietnam and Cuba to always stand side by side, continue to firmly build and protect socialism and the socio-economic development in each country, contributing to the common efforts for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

The book contributes to enhancing information and propaganda about the meaning and importance of the traditional solidarity, special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba; educating the young generation of the two countries to always cherish, preserve and further develop the special, exemplary and loyal relationship between the two peoples.

Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Trong Lam and Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes presented books to the Cuban Embassy in Vietnam and representatives of departments, ministries, branches and agencies attended the ceremony.

Comrade Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam, affirmed that the book is an outstanding contribution to preserving historical memories and the special solidarity and friendship between the two peoples established by President Ho Chi Minh and Leader Fidel Castro; a very meaningful initiative on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba. The book has introduced many typical documents and images of historical visits as well as exchanges between the two countries' leaders.

Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes sent his congratulations to the Truth National Political Publishing House for launching the book on the occasion of the important anniversary; and expressed his deep gratitude to the Publishing House for its persistent and important contributions over the years through publishing publications on the history, country and people of Cuba and translating and publishing Vietnamese works into Spanish to introduce to Cuban readers.
