The inspection trip helps industry leaders grasp the progress, training conditions, professional work, logistics and athletes' health; at the same time, it is an opportunity to encourage the spirit of all coaches and athletes who are training day and night towards the goal of achieving the highest results for Vietnamese sports .
Safety, health and professional quality are top priorities.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong requested the teams to continue to maintain their normal training schedule and not let the test schedule affect their professional plans. He directly discussed with the coaching staff and experts of the shooting, athletics, archery, pencak silat, wrestling, gymnastics, karate, judo, etc.; and listened to reports from the Hanoi National Sports Training Center and the opinions of the athletes to have timely instructions.
According to reports, most of the teams are in a period of high concentration. Some important players are training abroad, but the majority are training at the National Sports Training Center in Hanoi, aiming to complete the assigned Gold Medal target.

At the pencak silat team’s training area, Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong met and encouraged the athletes. The team currently has 12 athletes (8 men, 4 women), competing in 10 combat weight categories and 2 forms. Most of the athletes are in good physical condition, except for Nguyen Duy Tuyen – the reigning champion in the 85kg category at the 29th, 31st and 32nd SEA Games – who is suffering from a minor injury and is being closely monitored by the medical team.
Head coach Nguyen Van Hung said Duy Tuyen’s injury was not serious and he could recover in time to participate in the 33rd SEA Games. Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong highly appreciated the team’s serious training spirit, while emphasizing that Vietnam’s biggest rival in this sport is still Indonesia. However, competing on a neutral field in Thailand will help Vietnamese athletes have more opportunities to shorten the gap in achievements.
The Deputy Minister asked the coaching staff to develop a scientific and reasonable training plan for the remaining 20 days, paying special attention to medical work, ensuring that injuries do not become serious. "We should not put achievements at all costs, the most important thing is to ensure the health and sustainable performance of athletes," he emphasized.

Next, the Deputy Minister inspected the Sepak Takraw team and expressed his satisfaction with the serious and methodical training spirit of the coaching staff and athletes. According to the assessment, the biggest opponent of the Vietnamese team is still the Thai team. The Deputy Minister asked the team to prepare diverse personnel and tactical plans, practice skills to respond to complex competition situations to be proactive in all scenarios.
In the athletics team, this year the coaching staff has promoted the rejuvenation of the force, with many faces trained systematically in the past two years, standing out in the 100m and 4x100m relay events. Coach Vu Ngoc Loi said: "The young athletes have shown clear progress, have a good foundation and high determination. The team is currently in the pre-competition stage, the coaching staff will adjust the training intensity appropriately to achieve the highest efficiency."
Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong highly appreciated the rejuvenation work and asked the coaching staff to focus on nutrition, health care, and daily activities for each athlete. He shared: “The 33rd SEA Games will take place in less than a month. I believe that this generation of young athletes will succeed their seniors and contribute to the overall achievements of the Vietnamese sports delegation.”

At the national shooting range, the shooters are also urgently perfecting their techniques. Shooter Pham Quang Huy said that the whole team is very excited towards the 33rd SEA Games. Along with that, the Mongolian expert in charge of the women's pistol content shared that the shooters are in the important stage of accumulating expertise to aim for the highest achievements.
Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong affirmed: “SEA Games is no longer a big barrier for Vietnamese sports. Coaches need to understand the characteristics of each athlete to have a reasonable training plan, not only to conquer SEA Games 33 but also to create momentum towards the Asian Games (ASIAD) next year.”
