Gia Lai province's armed forces donated nearly 700 million VND to support people in overcoming the consequences of storms and floods.

(GLO)- On the morning of November 13, the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command launched a fundraising campaign to support people in localities in the province affected by storm No. 13.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Xuan Son - Deputy Political Commissar of Gia Lai Provincial Military Command - emphasized: Storm No. 13 has caused heavy damage to people and property, greatly affecting the lives of people and officers and soldiers of the provincial armed forces.

At the launching ceremony, all officers and employees in the entire provincial military voluntarily donated one day's basic salary with an amount of nearly 700 million VND.

With this amount, the Provincial Military Command will transfer 500 million VND to the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to support people in localities severely damaged by storm No. 13.

The remaining nearly 200 million VND will be used by the Provincial Military Command to support officers, professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers and their families in the Provincial Armed Forces affected by storm No. 13.
