Pig prices in Gia Lai and Ha Tinh are the lowest in the country.

(GLO)- The live hog market on November 13 recorded a price decrease in some localities across the country. Particularly in Gia Lai and Ha Tinh, after decreasing by 1,000 VND/kg, the live hog price reached the lowest level in the country at 46,000 VND/kg.

With the same decrease, the price of live pigs in Da Nang dropped to 47,000 VND/kg; Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, Ho Chi Minh City and Vinh Long are currently trading at 49,000, 48,000, 49,000 and 47,000 VND/kg, respectively.

In the remaining localities, traders purchased live pigs at the same price as yesterday. In particular, the Northern market fluctuated around 47,000-49,000 VND/kg; the Central Highlands region from 46,000-49,000 VND/kg and the Southern region was 47,000-50,000 VND/kg.

Thus, the highest price of live pigs in the country today is at 50,000 VND/kg, a sharp decrease compared to the level of more than 70,000 VND/kg at the beginning of the year.

Industry experts say that weather factors that make transportation difficult, oversupply and sudden increase in pork imports are the reasons for the sharp drop in live hog prices.
