Buon Ma Thuot City ( Dak Lak ) is likened to a "forest in the city", all the streets are surrounded by rows of green trees with many typical trees of the Central Highlands such as: acacia, rosewood, tamarind, kơ nia, cam lai, purple lagerstroemia...

The green area ratio of Buon Ma Thuot city is over 17m2/person, in the inner city it is about 8.27m2/person. The city government is making efforts to increase the green area ratio in the inner city to 9m2/person.

Most of the streets are covered with green trees, cool and fresh air, people and tourists feel this clearly when traveling on some streets with high density of trees such as: Tran Hung Dao, Dam San, Le Duan, Cao Thang...

Many residential areas in Buon Ma Thuot are systematically and scientifically planned, with trees being prioritized for planting around them. During the construction of new residential areas, local authorities have synchronously deployed a system of flower gardens, small flower gardens, and trees to serve the people in the area.

Particularly for old neighborhoods, the city focuses on beautifying and investing in completing the technical infrastructure system to ensure space for green trees to grow, and enhancing the green park system to serve the people.

Located in the center of Buon Ma Thuot City, the Dak Lak Museum of Ethnic Cultures is located in the Bao Dai Palace grounds, like a miniature "forest" with a total floor area of ​​over 9,000m2 and hundreds of ancient trees of various species. Of which, there are 2 camphor trees in the grounds that are recognized as Vietnam Heritage Trees.

The East-West Avenue in Buon Ma Thuot City has just been completed with a total investment of more than 1,500 billion VND. This is one of the most beautiful roads in the coffee city, connecting the central area with Buon Ma Thuot Airport.

The population on both sides of the East-West Highway is quite sparse and scattered. The Buon Ma Thuot City government is seeking public opinion on a detailed planning of the residential area south of the East-West Highway to create favorable conditions for the development and formation of residential areas.

The World Coffee Museum has a very unique architecture surrounded by lush green trees. This is a tourist destination that most visitors to Buon Ma Thuot choose to visit. This museum displays over 10,000 artifacts related to coffee around the world.

The row of hundred-year-old tamarind trees on Phan Dinh Giot Street is a check-in spot (photo-taking spot) for many tourists. The approximately 2km long route was chosen as a walking street of Buon Ma Thuot City and is the venue for many cultural activities of the province's ethnic groups.

With strategic vision, methodical planning, and proper investment attention, Buon Ma Thuot is gradually being built to be worthy of an ecological, unique, and modern urban area as the center of the Central Highlands region as per Conclusion 67 of the Politburo on building and developing Buon Ma Thuot to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Mr. Tran Duc Nhat - Vice Chairman of Buon Ma Thuot City People's Committee - said that this green city is the result of the strategic vision of many generations of provincial leaders over the past decades, and is being inherited and promoted.

According to Mr. Nhat, the city has established a project to develop urban green trees integrated into urban planning and construction programs, with regulations on managing the city's architecture.

In addition, the city also focuses on directing communes and wards to promote propaganda and mobilize people to participate in tree planting, creating a "green - clean - beautiful" living environment, imbued with the identity of the Central Highlands region.
