In addition, information from the Tuyen Quang Provincial Hydrometeorological Station shows that at 4:00 a.m. on October 1, the water level of Lo River at Tuyen Quang Hydrological Station was 24.83 m (0.83 m above alarm level 2). At 5:00 a.m. on October 1, the water level upstream of Tuyen Quang Lake was 119.87 m, the water flow into the lake was 4737 m/s, the water flow out of the lake was 5693 m3/s (of which the water flow through 8 discharge gates was 4991 m3/s; the water flow through 3 generators was 699 m3/s). With the current water flow and discharge works, it is expected that by 7:00 a.m. on October 1, the water level of the lake will be about 119.63 m.
Faced with that situation, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to allow closing one of the project's spillways to lower the water level of Lo River; while still ensuring the safety of Tuyen Quang Hydropower project.
The company will regularly monitor the flow to the lake and promptly report to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment when unusual situations occur.
Previously, to ensure construction safety, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company opened all 8 bottom spillway gates of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir.
