Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru re-elected Chairman of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association

On November 16, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association held the 5th Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term.

With the slogan Solidarity - Innovation - Development, this Congress was attended by 195 official delegates, representing nearly 11,700 members nationwide.

The Congress unanimously approved the reports presented by the Executive Committee based on the personnel plan, elected the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association for the 2025-2030 term consisting of 75 members, and the Association's Inspection Committee consisting of 5 members. The Executive Committee elected the Standing Committee for the 2025-2030 term consisting of 13 members. Associate Professor, Doctor Do Van Tru continued to be elected as President of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association for the 2025-2030 term. The Vice Presidents of the Association include: Doctor Nguyen The Hung - General Secretary of the Association, Master To Van Dong, Master Trinh Thanh Giang.

Speaking at the Congress, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru, Chairman of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association for the 2020-2025 term, affirmed: The 5th Congress of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association for the 2025-2030 term is an important milestone, of special significance in the process of building and developing the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association. A voluntary professional social organization of Vietnamese citizens and organizations, which have been operating in the field of cultural heritage or are passionate about cultural heritage, aims to gather and unite members, protect the rights and legitimate interests of members, support each other to operate effectively, contribute to the cause of protecting and promoting the value of cultural heritage, building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity and contributing to the world cultural heritage treasure.

The Congress becomes even more meaningful as it takes place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh signing the first Decree on cultural heritage preservation (November 23, 1945 - November 23, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2025).

Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Tru pledged: The new Executive Committee will wholeheartedly strive to fulfill the important responsibilities assigned by the congress, further promoting the role of the Association in the cause of protecting and promoting the value of cultural heritage.

At the Congress, delegates discussed and approved many important issues, especially the Summary Report of activities for the IV term (2020-2025) and the direction of activities for the V term (2025-2030) of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association.

The Congress set out the general direction of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association for the 5th term (2025-2030), which is to promote the advantages of previous terms, overcome shortcomings and limitations; continue to strengthen the Association in all aspects; further promote the role of the Association in the cause of protecting and promoting the value of cultural heritage.

Accordingly, to implement the above direction, the activities of the Association in the next term will focus on a number of main tasks including: Continuing to strengthen and develop the Association in both quantity and quality, strengthening the Association's leadership apparatus, preparing the next generation for the next term; Actively organizing and participating in activities to protect and promote the value of cultural heritage to contribute to spreading the value and attractiveness of the treasure of Vietnamese cultural heritage, contributing to nurturing the love for Vietnamese cultural heritage of the public at home and abroad, especially the young generation.

In addition, the Association will strengthen social criticism through organizing conferences, seminars, and discussions on issues related to cultural heritage that are of social concern. Contribute more with ministries, departments, and branches to continue perfecting the legal system on cultural heritage; Promote the activities of the Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund; gradually deploy research and application of science and technology in activities of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage; Continue to develop more member associations at the provincial and municipal levels; Expand domestic and international cooperation on protecting and promoting the value of cultural heritage; closely coordinate with relevant agencies, organizations, scientists, and media agencies in all activities...

Reporting on the activities of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association for the fourth term (2020-2025), Dr. Nguyen The Hung, Vice President - General Secretary of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association, said: The fourth term (2020-2025) of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association took place in a special context: the first two years were heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, recently the merger of provinces and cities and the two-level government model, plus the situation of floods and natural disasters also had a certain impact on a number of provincial and city-level associations. However, the Association has always made efforts, been flexible, and had many practical activities to protect and promote the values ​​of national cultural heritage, in accordance with the actual situation in the localities.

The Association has organized and coordinated many seminars and workshops on current issues of cultural heritage that are of interest to society; participated in giving opinions and building policies and mechanisms on heritage, notably giving opinions on building the Law on Cultural Heritage; assessing and identifying heritage values; communicating and educating about heritage; protecting cultural heritage associated with sustainable development...; actively participating in many events on the country's cultural heritage. The Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund has organized many events and activities in the field of cultural heritage, including signing a memorandum of cooperation with Tiktok on heritage communication; organizing seminars on heritage in the digital world; exhibitions of heritage paintings and digitized treasures...
