
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Van Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the Steering Committee of the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival in 2025, emphasized that Ca Mau is the southernmost land of the country, where forests and seas, rich nature and industrious and creative people meet. Through the development process, the fisheries industry has become the economic pillar of the province, making important contributions to growth, export turnover and people's lives; in which, Ca Mau crab - a product favored by nature, nurtured in a typical mangrove ecosystem has become a famous brand, trusted and loved by domestic and foreign consumers.
Ca Mau crab is not only a high-quality product, leading the country in output with over 36 thousand tons/year, but also a cultural symbol, a crystallization of nature and the labor of the people of the Cape. The shrimp - crab - fish farming models combined under the mangrove canopy have affirmed the right direction, bringing economic efficiency and contributing to the protection of a sustainable ecological environment. This is the core value that Ca Mau always respects, preserves and promotes.
The leaders of Ca Mau province hope that through this Crab Festival, they will continue to promote communication, contributing to promoting the culture, land and people of Ca Mau; the potential and strengths of the local seafood industry, especially the Ca Mau crab industry - the second main industry after the shrimp industry, to domestic and international tourists, spreading the influence of the land, people, culture, tourism and cuisine, typical products of Ca Mau - the southernmost land of the Fatherland to domestic and international friends.

Speaking at the Ca Mau Crab Festival, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam suggested that in the coming time, Ca Mau province should proactively work with central ministries and branches to continue to effectively exploit these projects, considering this as a strategic driving force to transform the province's development model - from a low-lying, downstream locality to a center of marine economy, energy and logistics, a new growth pole of the Mekong Delta region. Ca Mau province needs to focus on building a sustainable marine economic development strategy, focusing on exploiting the potential for aquaculture, fishing and seafood processing, developing seaports - logistics - maritime services, combining ecotourism - island culture. At the same time, preserving and promoting the value of mangrove forests, towards a green, circular and low-emission economic model...

According to the organizers, this year's crab festival, taking place from November 16 to 22, is an activity aimed at raising the brand of Ca Mau crab in the domestic and international markets, while creating a space for trade connection, investment promotion, tourism and innovative startups. The festival is organized with many rich activities, such as: organizing exhibition space, crab industry trade exhibition, Ca Mau crab culinary space; a comprehensive trade fair space with a scale of more than 270 booths, introducing OCOP products, startups, innovation, unique cuisine from crab and regional products...

Within the framework of the festival, there will also be a competition to set a record for Ca Mau crabs; a series of events, CamaUP'25 - Ca Mau Province Startup Festival 2025; an international conference on "Innovation for sustainable development of the Ca Mau - Vietnam sea crab industry", along with cultural, sports and tourism activities such as: The 1st Ca Mau Southern Amateur Music Festival; Marathon - Ca Mau 2025...
