In the summer, many roads in Dong Thap, many kinds of flowers… compete to show their colors. Among them, there is a kind of flower that looks quite similar to the o moi flower, called muong hoa dao.

For many newcomers as well as Dong Thap residents, the peach blossom is a fairly new flower, rarely seen before. Many people mistake it for
the o moi tree , because the flowers, leaves and trunk look quite similar to the o moi tree - a tree that when in bloom, is compared by locals to "western cherry blossoms".

What impresses people is that this tree is planted in large numbers, in long rows. In Cao Lanh city, the peach blossom tree has been planted in recent years on the streets and residential areas in My Tra and Hoa An communes, Ward 3.

The Cassia fistula tree originates from the forests of Southeast Asia. In Vietnam, this tree species is distributed in some provinces of the Central Highlands and Southeast.

According to the People's Committee of Cao Lanh City, the cassia tree has a wide canopy, is easy to grow and its flowers bloom in clusters, looking very beautiful. For that reason, the city has planted them on some roads and residential areas to create shade and landscape.

Normally, the blooming time of the royal poinciana is from April to June, or later. In the summer, when the rainy season begins, it is also the time when the royal poinciana blooms.

After the leaves on the tree gradually fall, each branch grows large clusters of light pink flowers, looking like cherry blossoms in full bloom.

Every early morning or late afternoon, people often walk or sit and chat under the canopy of the peach blossom trees. The wind sways the clusters of flowers, giving us a feeling of elation before the shimmering, charming beauty of the peach blossom trees.
