Hue - Ru Cha is the name of the only remaining primeval mangrove forest in the Tam Giang lagoon system - the largest lagoon system in Southeast Asia. This forest is currently in the early leaf-changing stage, but at this time it has a new beauty, a peaceful beauty with a bit of mystery.
We, the children living far from home, came to Hue City to study and work many years ago. Having been attached to Hue for quite a long time, however, this time I and my new friends had the opportunity to visit and learn about famous places and landscapes in the suburbs of Thua Thien Hue province. I have heard of Ru Cha for a long time and seen pictures on social networks, but recently, the trend of organizing discovery and entertainment sessions at this location has become popular. According to information from previous visitors, the tea trees in the mangrove forest in the Tam Giang lagoon system are in the process of changing leaves early and beautifully according to the story. So, my friends and I decided to explore and learn about the mangrove forest considered the green lung of the eastern part of Hue city. The destination is less than 15km from the center of Hue city, it did not take us much time to reach Huong Phong commune (Hue city), where Ru Cha area is changing leaves earlier than every year. At around 5:10 a.m., the sun began to rise from the Tam Giang lagoon, the largest lagoon system in Southeast Asia. The rays of sunlight began to filter through the sparse tea tree tops, combined with a bit of mist to create a magical, beautiful space. Walking on the small road under the rows of tea trees intertwined to form an arch, I felt like I was lost in a deserted land somewhere in Switzerland; there was a bit of goosebumps because of the cool air and the rather mysterious, ghostly space. However, there is nothing to be afraid of, because this is an inherent feature of a primeval forest, sometimes it becomes interesting for those who like to learn and explore nature. Covering more than 5 hectares, Ru Cha is home to thousands of ancient tea trees, is home to many aquatic species of the lagoon and is home to many species of birds. The ecosystem of Ru Cha mangrove forest is considered to be very diverse and rich. According to the locals, “Rú” means forest, “Chá” is a tree species that occupies about 90% of the area. The name Rú Chá has both a rustic, wild beauty and a mysterious quality. When coming to Ru Cha, you must definitely go up to the tower in the middle of the forest, standing from above looking down, we can admire the panoramic view of the mangrove forest below; from the immense forest carpets to the peaceful and poetic Tam Giang lagoon. Ru Cha in Tam Giang lagoon seen from above. Here, the most ideal time to enjoy the scenery is early in the morning, when the sun begins to rise or in the evening. However, when you come to Hue, you can come and stay in the Ru Cha forest all day without getting bored. Because this place is not only peaceful and poetic but also like a cool air conditioner from the essence of heaven and earth, ideal to avoid the heat these days. According to research, Hue people often compare Ru Cha mangrove forest to a screen protecting the mainland in Thuan An sea, so when there are storms and floods, the forest is not much affected. If you want to find a quiet forest space to relax and explore, this place will be the perfect destination. Especially in early September, the tea trees begin to bloom with brilliant flowers, at the same time, it is also a sign to let everyone know that the rainy season is coming.
