After introducing a redesigned version last fall, Audi continues to expand the Q5 lineup with a new series of plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants.

The focus of this upgrade is the new powertrain. The standard Audi Q5 PHEV is equipped with a 2.0L TFSI gasoline engine combined with an electric motor integrated in a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery.

This configuration provides a combined output of 295 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, helping the car accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 250 km/h. Notably, Audi also added a high-performance version for customers who require a sportier driving experience.

This variant increases the power to 362 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, helping the car reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 5.1 seconds, on par with many pure sports SUVs on the market. Audi says the battery capacity of the new Q5 PHEV has increased by about 45% compared to the previous generation.

Thanks to that, the car can operate entirely on electricity within a range of 82 to 100 km (according to the European WLTP standard), enough to meet most daily travel needs in urban areas. In addition to battery capacity, charging speed has also been significantly upgraded. If the old generation only supported AC charging up to 7.4 kW, the new version has increased to 11 kW.

With this capacity, users can fully charge the battery in about 2.5 hours - a time that Audi describes as "faster than some high-end smartphones". All versions of the Q5 PHEV have the S line interior package with black leather sports seats, accompanied by a 3-zone automatic air conditioning system.

The cabin is modern with an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch central display. In addition, a number of exterior design highlights also contribute to highlighting the sportiness of this hybrid SUV, including the S-line sports suspension, red-painted brake calipers and 19-inch light alloy wheels.

As planned, the plug-in hybrid variants of the Audi Q5 will be produced at the San José Chiapa plant (Mexico), where Audi has invested heavily to serve the Q5 line exclusively. The car will officially be available to order in the European market from the end of June 2025.

In Germany, the starting price for the Audi Q5 e-hybrid quattro is 63,400 euros (about 1.91 billion VND), while the Sportback e-hybrid quattro is priced from 65,900 euros (1.99 billion VND). The high-performance versions are priced at 71,800 euros (2.16 billion VND) and 74,300 euros (2.24 billion VND), respectively.
