
According to an announcement from the Thai E-Sports Federation, this sport will have its own competition and medals, marking the first time a music and dance video game has appeared within the framework of a SEA Games.
This event is a direct result of the strategic cooperation agreement recently signed between the Vietnam Entertainment E- Sports Association (VIRESA) and VTC Technology and Digital Content Company (VTC Intecom) - the publisher of Audition in Vietnam. According to the cooperation content, VIRESA will play the role of general coordinator, and together with VTC Intecom and the Thai E-Sports Federation, will co-chair and coordinate with competent authorities in Thailand to organize the Audition performance at the 33rd SEA Games.

This event will consist of three competitions: Men's, Women's and Mixed Team. The selection of Audition is not only symbolic for the gaming community but also demonstrates the vision of expanding the scope of eSports beyond fighting or strategy games, aiming for diversity and creativity in the field of eSports in the Southeast Asian region.
With two consecutive successful e-sports events at SEA Games 31 and SEA Games 32, the Vietnam E-Sports Association is expected to continue to promote its experience and organizational capacity, contributing to bringing a new look to e-sports at SEA Games 33. Vietnam has been highly appreciated for its organization, training and athlete development, thereby contributing to raising the status of e-sports in the region.
Mr. Do Viet Hung, Chairman of the Southeast Asian E-Sports Federation and Chairman of the Vietnam Entertainment E-Sports Association, said that Audition's participation in the 33rd SEA Games is an important step in the journey to affirm Vietnam's leading role in the field of regional e-sports. According to him, VIRESA is carrying out the mission of building a humane, creative and sustainable e-sports, while contributing to the implementation of the goals in the National Digital Transformation Strategy and the Strategy for the Development of Vietnam's Cultural Industry to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
The cooperation between VIRESA, TESF and VTC Intecom is considered a testament to Vietnam's organizational capacity, professionalism and growing influence in the Southeast Asian e-sports ecosystem. Audition becoming a performance sport not only reflects the enduring vitality of this game but also shows the creativity and integration of Vietnamese e-sports in the regional digital culture flow.

As planned, the official medal events for e-sports at the 33rd SEA Games will take place from December 13 to 19, 2025 in Thailand, with 4 sports and 6 competitions. In the last 2 SEA Games, Vietnamese e-sports won a total of five gold medals, six silver medals and four bronze medals. In the upcoming congress, Vietnamese teams aim to maintain high achievements, while continuing to affirm their position as a pioneering country in the development of e-sports in Southeast Asia.
Audition being selected to perform at the 33rd SEA Games is not only a source of pride for the gaming community but also an important milestone for the Vietnamese digital culture industry. This is a new step forward demonstrating Vietnam's creativity, organizational capacity and integration spirit in the journey to shape the future of regional e-sports.
