Ba Ria - Vung Tau: Long Son commune meets advanced new rural standards

On February 3, Vung Tau City People's Committee held a ceremony to announce Long Son commune meeting advanced new rural standards in 2023.

Leaders of the City Party Committee and People's Committee of Vung Tau City presented the decision to recognize Long Son commune as meeting advanced NTM standards.

Long Son Commune, a commune-level administrative unit of Vung Tau City, is also the only unit implementing the construction of new rural areas in the city. Up to now, Long Son Commune has completed 19/19 criteria of the set of criteria for advanced new rural communes.

In the period 2011 - 2023, the rate of regular employment in Long Son commune reached 91.6%; the rate of labor working in the commune's key economic sectors reached 35.1%.

The average income per capita of Long Son commune reached 76.86 million VND/person/year; the provincial poverty rate of the commune decreased to 0.59%, there were no national poverty households...

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Vu Thanh, Chairman of Vung Tau City People's Committee, requested the Party Committee, government and people of Long Son commune to continue to promote responsibility and raise awareness of the entire political system on building new rural areas. This must be considered a key and regular political task of the unit; the role of the people in building new rural areas must be affirmed; and the quality of the criteria must be determined to be maintained and improved.

Continue to maintain and improve the quality of advanced NTM criteria, especially focusing on criteria on production, landscape - environment and security, social order to ensure sustainability in NTM construction.
