Specifically, by the end of March 2025, nationwide, there were 267,493 people receiving one-time social insurance benefits, a decrease of nearly 70,000 people, equivalent to 26.17% compared to the same period in 2024.

Previously, according to statistics from Vietnam Social Security, in the period 2018-2024, there were 8,295,937 people receiving one-time social insurance benefits, of which 6,778,296 people received one-time social insurance benefits.

Also in the first 3 months of this year, the number of people participating in social insurance nationwide continued to increase by 8.7% compared to the same period in 2024. Of which, compulsory social insurance increased by 7.57% and voluntary social insurance increased by 21.11%. The number of people participating in unemployment insurance increased by 8.49%. The number of people participating in health insurance increased by 2.28%.

Vietnam Social Security has also just assigned targets to strive to develop the number of participants in social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance by 2025.

Accordingly, the development targets for the number of participants in each type this year are as follows: compulsory social insurance is 18,582,946 people, voluntary social insurance is 2,947,418 people, unemployment insurance is 16,763,568 people and health insurance is 97,572,880 people.
