On May 22, Phu Cu district organized a conference to connect lychee consumption. Attending the conference were representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Science and Technology, and over 60 companies, businesses, and agricultural product purchasing agents inside and outside the province.
Phu Cu district has over 1,200 hectares of litchi, including 850 hectares of Phu Cu early-ripening hybrid litchi and 400 hectares of Hung Yen egg litchi. Phu Cu early-ripening hybrid litchi is mainly grown in the communes of Tam Da, Minh Tien, and Tien Tien. Favorable weather and farmers' improved techniques for caring for litchi during the flowering and fruiting period have resulted in an estimated output of 15,000 tons of Phu Cu early-ripening hybrid litchi.
Phu Cu early-ripening hybrid lychee is harvested earlier than other lychees on the market, the expected harvest season is from May 30. Phu Cu early-ripening hybrid lychee has a bright red color when ripe, delicious and sweet flavor; average weight is 20-25 fruits/kg. Phu Cu early-ripening hybrid lychee is granted a trademark registration certificate by the Department of Intellectual Property ( Ministry of Science and Technology ); ranked as a 4-star OCOP product by the People's Committee of Hung Yen province.
Hung Yen lychee is grown in the communes of Phan Sao Nam, Quang Hung, Doan Dao, Minh Tan. Hung Yen lychee has the characteristics of large fruit, early ripening, thin skin, bright red color, thick flesh, sweet taste, high selling price. In particular, the attraction of Hung Yen lychee is that after harvesting, it can be left in the wild for 3 to 4 days and still retains its original color and flavor. The total lychee output of the district is estimated at 350 tons.
Within the framework of the conference, delegates visited lychee gardens in Phan Sao Nam, Tam Da and Tien Tien communes; a number of supermarkets, domestic enterprises and cooperatives in the district signed a memorandum of cooperation in consuming Phu Cu early-ripening hybrid lychee products.
