Bac Giang: Warning of flash floods and landslides due to heavy rains in some places

Rainfall measured in Lang Giang was 104 mm, Phu Lang Thuong 88 mm, Tan Son 35 mm... Soil moisture in some areas was nearly saturated or reached saturation.

Heavy rain caused local flooding at the intersection of Hung Vuong - Le Loi streets ( Bac Giang city).

The Meteorological and Hydrological Agency warns that in the next 6 hours, areas in Bac Giang province will continue to have rain with accumulated rainfall ranging from 30-60 mm, in some places over 90 mm. There is a risk of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence in small streams, ravines, slopes, positive slopes, roads, and places with construction works under construction; localized flooding in low-lying areas in communes in districts in the province.

Some places at risk of flash floods and landslides include: Phi Dien town, Cam Son, Phong Van, Dong Coc, Tan Lap, Kim Son, Phong Minh, Sa Ly, Ho Dap, Tan Son, Tan Hoa communes (Luc Ngan); Phuong Son, Giap Son wards, My An commune (Chu town); Vo Tranh, Huyen Son, Truong Son, Truong Giang, Vu Xa, Luc Son, Dan Hoi, Dong Hung communes (Luc Nam); My Ha, Huong Son, Duong Duc communes (Lang Giang)...

Flash floods and landslides can have a very negative impact on the environment, threaten people's lives, cause local traffic jams, damage houses and public works, and cause damage to production and daily life activities. Therefore, people need to proactively reinforce houses and works, trim trees to avoid falling and breaking; pay attention to implementing measures to protect people and property, and limit damage caused by natural disasters.
