Bac Giang: Launching the peak campaign "Cleaning up household waste and greening vacant land"

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Vu Van Tuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, stated that in recent years, environmental protection work in the province has had many positive changes, the quality of people's living environment has been increasingly improved. However, in addition, the province still has a situation of household waste being generated in the wrong places, general environmental sanitation activities have not been maintained regularly; vacant land and abandoned land have not been used effectively...

In order to overcome the above situation, on April 17, 2025, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 63/KH-UBND on launching the peak campaign "Cleaning up household waste and greening vacant land" in the province. This campaign is not only a simple environmental protection activity but also a call for action for each citizen, cadre, civil servant, student, organization, and enterprise to join hands in building a green - clean - beautiful living environment. The peak campaign launch time is from April 20 to June 20 this year and will be maintained regularly in the following period.

The campaign sets out three goals: Mobilizing the entire population to clean up garbage, clean village roads, alleys, and residential areas; collecting garbage in canals, ditches, and lakes; handling spontaneous garbage dumping sites; planting trees in vacant lots in office premises, businesses, schools, public areas, along roads, industrial parks and clusters. At the same time, each individual is encouraged to regularly maintain the general cleaning movement on "Green Saturdays and Sundays" every week at agencies, businesses, schools, residential areas, and neighborhood groups.

To make the campaign effective, comrade Vu Van Tuong called on each agency, organization, business, household and citizen to actively respond with specific actions. Each person has a job, each family has an action, each locality has a movement, creating a widespread influence throughout society to work together towards building a greener, cleaner and more livable Bac Giang province.

Localities and agencies in the province, based on their functions and tasks, need to continue to strengthen the dissemination of the provisions of the Law on Environmental Protection; implement the instructions of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on mobilizing the entire population to collect and treat waste. Maintain regular environmental protection activities; build and replicate environmental protection models; periodically organize cleaning, waste collection, and sewer dredging...

Continue to do a good job of inspection and supervision; strictly handle acts of dumping waste and waste in the wrong places, causing loss of landscape and environmental pollution; promote the role of community supervision to detect and provide information on polluting acts, promptly handle them according to regulations.

During the launching ceremony, delegates started collecting garbage at several locations in Anhui Urban Area, Moc Market area and several roads near Cao Thuong Town Middle School.
