Bac Giang and Bac Ninh complete the framework of the project to rearrange the two provinces.

Bac Giang province was assigned to preside over the arrangement with Bac Ninh province.

On April 11, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province held a conference to implement the socio-economic development tasks in the first quarter. Provincial leaders said that all levels and sectors have focused on implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the organizational apparatus, and resolving the regime and policies for cadres, civil servants and public employees after the arrangement.

After the reorganization, the Provincial People's Committee has 13 affiliated professional agencies, down 6 agencies; 107 professional departments, branches and equivalents. The new apparatus officially came into operation from March 1.

Also at the conference, the representative of the Department of Home Affairs informed about the plan to rearrange provincial administrative units. Accordingly, Bac Giang province was assigned to preside over the arrangement with Bac Ninh.

The Bac Giang Department of Home Affairs has advised the Provincial Party Committee to establish a Steering Committee and develop a plan with specific timelines. In particular, the final deadline for submitting documents on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units must be before May 1, and voters' opinions will be collected on April 20.

To implement this plan, the Department of Home Affairs of Bac Giang province has proactively worked with the locality, the provincial police, and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to review officials and civil servants at the commune and district levels, review natural areas, population, etc.

In addition, Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces have held meetings on the implementation plan. The Department of Home Affairs of the two provinces has developed a project framework, outline, and required data and is continuing to complete the project.

"Currently, Bac Giang province has established 6 working groups to carry out the contents of the merger arrangement with Bac Ninh province," informed a representative of the Bac Giang Department of Home Affairs.

Standing Vice Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee Mai Son said that in the coming time, the province will focus on implementing the work of rearranging administrative units at provincial and communal levels according to the direction of the Central Government.

Mr. Mai Son suggested that the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department be the focal point to coordinate with functional agencies such as the Department of Home Affairs and other departments and branches to provide official information to the press about the arrangement policy; timely information on the settlement of policies for people who retire under the streamlining and compacting regime.
