Bac Lieu: Destroyed more than 1,300 weapons and support tools of all kinds

(PLVN) - On June 25, Bac Lieu Provincial Police organized the destruction of more than 1,300 weapons and support tools seized through campaigns to mobilize the people to hand them over and receive them from agencies, organizations and businesses in the area. Colonel Bui Xuan Khoi - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, Chairman of the Destruction Council chaired the ceremony.

According to Bac Lieu Provincial Police, this is an activity to strictly implement the Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives and Supporting Tools, while contributing to improving the effectiveness of state management and people's awareness of law observance.

Colonel Bui Xuan Khoi - Deputy Director of Bac Lieu Provincial Police emphasized: "Recently, the Provincial Police have deployed many synchronous measures, notably advising the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to issue a letter calling on all people to voluntarily surrender weapons, explosives, support tools and fireworks. Thanks to that, the surrender movement has spread widely, contributing significantly to maintaining local security and order."

Thereby, the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order has reviewed and found that the total number of weapons and support tools that are no longer usable and have been recovered is 1,303 units, including: 163 military weapons, 422 primitive weapons, 267 weapons with similar features and 451 support tools. On that basis, the Destruction Council was established according to regulations to conduct the destruction in accordance with the procedure.

In addition, the destruction is carried out seriously, safely, ensuring technical requirements and complying with environmental laws. Weapons are destroyed by sawing, cutting, and crushing to completely eliminate their lethality. For explosives and pepper sprays, the Bac Lieu Provincial Military Command will coordinate with the Military Command to destroy them in a specialized area.

The destruction of weapons and support tools is carried out under the supervision of the Destruction Council. At the same time, the principle of absolute safety for people and vehicles is ensured.
