BHG - On the afternoon of January 11, at the headquarters of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit Goods (Steering Committee 389) held a conference to review the work in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024. Comrade Hoang Gia Long, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee 389 chaired the conference. Attending the conference were leaders of departments and branches of the province.

In 2023, the socio-economic development situation in the province is basically stable; import, export and customs clearance activities through border gates are restored, goods on the market are diverse and rich in types and quality, the supply of goods is abundant, goods are listed at public prices, there is no hoarding, unreasonable speculation and price increases; on the border, the situation of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods (BL, GLTM, HG) does not arise hot spots. All levels and sectors will step up propaganda and dissemination of laws on BL, GLTM, HG in many forms. In 2023, functional forces will strengthen coordination, inspection, and detection of 1,626 cases, including 1,297 violations and handling; 1,233 administrative violations have been sanctioned, and over 17.7 billion VND has been collected for the state budget; confiscated and destroyed infringing goods worth over 2.7 billion VND.

Discussing at the conference, delegates focused on proposing solutions to remove difficulties in anti-BL, GLTM, HG activities such as: Controlling e-commerce activities; building warehouses to store and preserve goods and means of violation; controlling food hygiene and safety; managing the business of drugs and functional foods; fighting against high-tech crimes; promoting communication work in many forms, especially on digital platforms; checking and controlling the origin of goods, invoices, and product documents.
Concluding the conference, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Gia Long requested members of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 to base on the tasks and work program in 2024 of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 to develop programs and plans for the sector in the fight against illegal logging, illegal trade, and illegal dumping in the assigned fields and areas; functional forces closely coordinate, share information, promote the fight against illegal logging, illegal trade, and illegal dumping in the area, strengthen inspections and examinations focusing on a number of fields and items that are prone to illegal logging, illegal trade, and illegal dumping; all levels and sectors focus on disseminating andeducating laws on illegal logging, illegal trade, and illegal dumping, especially forest protection and food hygiene and safety; inspect and control forest product processing facilities, and strictly handle violations; Improve the professional qualifications and skills of staff, especially those in charge of combating and combating new illegal activities such as smuggling, illegal trade, and counterfeiting; strictly handle cases of selling goods in the wrong places.
