SGGP Newspaper readers donated an additional 12 million VND to help a man in Ha Tinh who had an accident and whose family was in dire straits.

On November 24, representatives of SGGP Newspaper in the Central region coordinated with the Party Committee and People's Committee of Vu Quang Commune (Ha Tinh Province) to present the second installment of 12 million VND from readers to support the family of Mr. Phan Van My (born in 1987, residing in Tho Dien Village 5).

Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang (Mr. Phan Van My's wife) received 12 million VND from SGGP Newspaper readers.

Previously, on November 14, SGGP Newspaper also gave support to Mr. My's family with 10 million VND. The total amount of support for Mr. My's family from both rounds was 22 million VND. Mr. My is the character in the article "Husband loses ability to work, family in dire straits", published in SGGP Newspaper on November 3, 2025.

As the main breadwinner in the family, from a healthy person, after a serious traffic accident in 2021, Mr. My had to undergo 4 brain surgeries, completely lost the ability to work, sometimes remembered, sometimes forgot, lost the ability to speak. His legs and arms were very weak, unable to hold heavy objects, even using spoons and chopsticks was a great effort. Every time the weather changed, he had pain all over his body. His illness required long-term treatment, but his family was exhausted and could no longer afford treatment.

Since her husband's accident, Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang (born in 1988, Mr. My's wife), who is in poor health, has become the sole breadwinner of the family. She alone has to take care of her husband and raise three children in grades 1, 2 and 7. All household expenses depend on seasonal jobs. She does whatever she can to buy medicine for her husband, take care of meals and education for her children. Mr. My's family is poor, and he currently receives a subsidy of about 1 million VND/month for people with severe disabilities.

Receiving the above amount, Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang sent her thanks to SGGP Newspaper and its readers. Thanks to this money, the family has the funds to buy medicine to continue treating her husband's illness and cover living expenses.
