During the recent performance of the opera Spring Night Dream at the Tran Huu Trang Opera House, besides the polite audience members who sat quietly watching the performance, there were quite a few noisy audience members who laughed and talked about their own things. They loudly commented on the artists performing, affecting the enjoyment of the audience members nearby. Not only that, some audience members even carelessly put their feet up on the front seat, and when the person sitting in the front seat reacted, they loudly argued back...
Different from the two offensive behaviors mentioned above, in many performances of the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet, Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) in the auditorium of the City Theater, or at the concert hall of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, the behavior of the audience is very different. In these places, the audience always shows civility, politeness, and respect for the performing arts space.
After the good performances, everyone applauded enthusiastically. If there was an issue that needed to be discussed, they tried to speak softly so as not to disturb those around them. All of this was to preserve the spiritual and cultural beauty and show the necessary respect for the public space for enjoying art.
The above events show that the audience's awareness when participating in cultural and artistic activities plays an important role in building a civilized environment for enjoying art, showing respect for artists, works and other audiences.
In the new era, audiences of any form of entertainment art should have the right awareness of respecting cultural identity, cultural space, respecting regulations, preserving cultural beauty in the artistic environment, avoiding uncivilized behavior in public places. Only when the audience's awareness is good can it help increase the value of the art performance and contribute to the sustainable development of the cultural and artistic fields.
