Issuing the framework for piloting artificial intelligence education for high school students.

The Ministry of Education and Training has issued a pilot framework for artificial intelligence (AI) education for high school students. This AI education framework for students is developed based on four main knowledge strands, corresponding to four competency domains, and is designed for two educational stages: basic and career-oriented.

The framework for artificial intelligence (AI) education for high school students is developed based on four main knowledge strands, corresponding to four competency domains, supporting and complementing each other: Human-Centered Thinking : Emphasizing the purpose of AI to serve humanity; AI Ethics : Equipping students with the ability to identify and analyze ethical and legal issues, aiming for responsible use of AI; AI Techniques and Applications : Providing basic knowledge about how AI works and skills in using AI tools in practice; AI System Design : Developing competencies from the level of use to creating simple AI systems, focusing on problem-solving skills.

The curriculum framework is designed to correspond to two educational stages: the basic education stage - primary and lower secondary levels; and the vocational education stage - upper secondary level.

At the primary school level: Students begin to experience simple AI applications, forming initial concepts and recognizing the role of AI in life. They are educated about protecting personal data and respecting copyright.

At the middle school level: Students learn how to use AI tools to create digital products, gain foundational knowledge about the principles of AI operation, and begin to develop an awareness of ethics and civic responsibility in a digital society.

High school level: Students are encouraged to explore, design, and improve simple AI tools through science projects. The program focuses on developing problem-solving skills, creativity, and mastery of AI tools, helping students apply AI to create products that serve the community and guide their career paths.

This educational framework is built upon the competency-based perspective of the 2018 General Education Program and is consistent with the General Education Program for Informatics.
