Sweet Band Announces Stop Performing, Prepares for Final Album

In more than 10 years of operation, the group has released 4 studio albums including Ngọt (2016), Ng`bthg (2017), 3 (2019) and Gièo (2022). In which, the song Em ngay nay taken from the album Ng`bthg helped the band win the Dedication Award for Song of the Year and New Artist of the Year.

In mid-February, the group also unexpectedly released the EP Suyt 1, which includes 4 songs that blend unique elements such as Northwest and jazz-fusion sounds, in collaboration with saxophone artist Quyen Thien Dac.

In each album, the group experimented with different styles, combining rock with many genres, thereby bringing interesting musical experiences.

The band has been active since 2017 with 4 members, including Vu Dinh Trong Thang - vocals, composition, rhythm guitar, recording; Phan Viet Hoang - bass, Nguyen Hung Nam Anh - drums, backing vocals and Hoang Chi Trung - keyboard. Previously, 2 members Tran Binh Tuan and Nguyen Chi Hung left the group in 2016.

In 2022, Vu Dinh Trong Thang also released his first solo album titled Cai dau dau . Before that, he introduced the EP Giay trang as well as appeared as an independent artist in many different projects.

With the above announcement, many fans were also confused when 2 tours including Dreamy Cities taking place in Hanoi , Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and CAM Gala: “i” in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of Ngọt were introduced in April. If kept as before, these will be the last stages that Ngọt performs with all members.

It can be said that the disbandment of the Sweet band is a pity and a great loss for music lovers. Previously, the Wild Salmon band also announced their disbandment in 2023 after the album We All Want One Thing.
