Workers' Month 2025 spreads positive energy: love for work, love for life.

(PLVN) - With many rich activities and diverse organizational forms, the sports and physical education movement among cadres, workers, and employees is increasingly developing. Through these movements, team spirit is strengthened, creating a healthy and beneficial playground for workers and employees.

In response to the 2025 Workers' Month, the "I Love My Homeland" movement, and the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, this year the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, in coordination with businesses, is organizing the "Youth Workers - Spreading Positive Energy" Festival in 2025. This event marks the beginning of a series of festivals taking place in three provinces and cities throughout May.

On May 11th, the "Youth Workers - Spreading Positive Energy" festival in Bac Giang featured many activities: free medical check-ups, health consultations, medication distribution, and gifts for 1,000 young workers; a running race and badminton tournament for young workers; and a "Youth Workers' Talent Search" competition. Notably, the "Spreading Positive Energy" music festival included performances by many famous young artists.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Youth Union of Bac Giang province announced the establishment and launch of 7 badminton and pickleball clubs for young workers, under the Vietnam Youth Union of Industrial Zones in Bac Giang province. In addition to exciting badminton and pickleball matches, young workers also participated in running and tug-of-war activities. Many prizes were awarded to encourage workers in Bac Giang province to continue practicing sports and improving their health.

On May 18th, the "Youth Workers - Spreading Positive Energy" festival, held at Bien Hung Park in Bien Hoa City, Dong Nai Province, attracted approximately 2,000 young workers. The event included meaningful activities such as: the launch of the Youth Workers' Association for dormitories and industrial zones; free medical check-ups, health consultations, and medication distribution; the signing of a cooperation program for vocational training and job placement for young people between the Dong Nai Provincial Youth Union and 3T Technology and Services Joint Stock Company; booths featuring traditional games and a Youth Workers' Sports Festival; and a "Revolutionary Song Propaganda Festival".

In particular, the Music Festival, held on the evening of May 18th, featuring famous young singers and artists, and a raffle with many valuable and meaningful prizes for young workers, will be a great source of encouragement to help them work even harder. In addition, there will be a raffle with 2 grand prizes (motorcycles worth 25 million VND each) and 20 other gifts.

On Sunday, May 25th, the event was held in Nghe An, bringing together exciting competitions for young workers who love sports and are passionate about fitness. This was the final location for the "Young Workers - Spreading Positive Energy" festival.

In fact, workers are a crucial force helping Vietnam develop in the technological age. At the recent 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, General Secretary To Lam recognized the role of youth in the new era – the era of national progress – viewing youth as a key factor in shaping and developing the country's future. He emphasized that in the coming period, it will not only be an "era of progress" but also carry the faith, will, and aspirations of the entire nation for a "prosperous and happy" Vietnam.

The Congress resolution also identified one of the two key projects that the Association will implement during that term as "Uniting and gathering young workers and laborers in the period 2024 - 2029," in which the Association will continue to promote and implement many new contents to care for and accompany young workers and laborers more effectively and strongly, both in quality and quantity.

Expanding the model of organizing meaningful events for workers.

Launched in 2023, the "Youth Workers - Spreading Positive Energy" festival series has brought many meaningful values ​​to improve the spiritual lives of Vietnamese workers. The festival has organized many meaningful activities and attracted over 60,000 young workers; provided medical examinations and gifts to nearly 30,000 people; set up over 200 discount and free-of-charge stalls; organized the Red Bull Cup football tournament with nearly 200 teams from hundreds of businesses participating, with a total prize value of nearly 400 million VND. In addition, 9 music nights featuring many famous artists and a lucky draw program with nearly 200 prizes, including 6 Honda Wave RSX motorcycles, were awarded.

This is a meaningful model of operation that needs to be replicated in many provinces and localities. During Workers' Month, a series of cities and localities have organized attractive activities to care for the health and well-being of workers.

In Da Nang, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country, and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, the Trade Union of the Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones organized the 2025 Workers' Innovation and Sports Festival. During the festival, athletes competed in exciting events including tug-of-war, badminton, football, electronics skills competition, and a creative ideas contest. At the arena, the atmosphere became lively as the tug-of-war and badminton teams began their matches, creating dramatic moments and enthusiastic cheers from the audience. This was not only an opportunity for union members to improve their health but also a chance to strengthen solidarity and exchange among grassroots trade unions.

In addition to sports activities, workers also participated in a practical skills competition in mechanical engineering and manufacturing. The union facilitated this opportunity for them to learn and expand their knowledge of electronics. This is a valuable chance for workers to improve their skills and adapt to the automation process in production.

In particular, the event not only created a beneficial playground for workers to improve their skills and actively participate in sports activities, but also provided many gifts to support workers. From the resources of the City Federation of Labor, the High-Tech Park Trade Union awarded gifts to 118 workers in difficult circumstances, those who had suffered work accidents, and those with serious illnesses, with a total support amount of 244 million VND. This is timely encouragement, demonstrating the responsibility and concern of the trade union organization for workers during a challenging period.

In response to the activities of the 2025 Workers' Month, on May 17th, at the Management Board of the Binh Dinh Provincial Economic Zone, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union and the Secretariat of the Vietnam Youth Union of Binh Dinh Province organized the "Youth Workers' Festival" 2025. The event attracted the participation of more than 200 union members and workers. Prior to this, over two days at the Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, the Standing Committee of the Binh Dinh Provincial Youth Union organized a series of practical activities to create a beneficial playground for young workers and support individuals in difficult circumstances. One of the highlights of the Festival was the 2025 Youth Workers' Football Tournament, where teams from various units and businesses in the province competed in exciting and captivating matches. The tournament provided many dramatic moments and spectacular plays, exciting the spectators. After many strenuous matches, the best teams were honored.

In fact, workers play a crucial role in Vietnam today, not only in economic development but also in building society and defending the country. Workers constitute a large labor force, accounting for approximately 13% of the population and 24% of the total workforce. They contribute directly to production, services, and various industries, helping to boost economic growth and improve the quality of life.

Caring for the mental well-being and health of workers is essential. Thanks to the timely support and care from all levels of government, businesses, and trade unions, workers can feel secure in their jobs and contribute, gradually improving their material and spiritual lives and those of their families.
