Bang Thanh: Floor collapses during mealtime, many hospitalized.

On the evening of September 5th, at the home of Mr. Hoang Van Chung in Vi Lap village, Bang Thanh commune, while people were gathered for dinner, the wooden floor of the second floor suddenly collapsed onto the first floor, injuring several people who had to be hospitalized.

The initial cause was determined to be that the house, constructed of old wood, had a weakened floor structure due to age, showing signs of termite infestation and deterioration that had not been reinforced in time; the presence of many people sitting together with their combined weight caused the floor to collapse. The incident resulted in six injuries.

Immediately after the incident occurred, the leaders of Bang Thanh commune People's Committee, along with the relevant authorities, arrived at the scene to take the victims to the hospital for emergency treatment. To date, most of the victims are out of danger, while those with serious injuries are continuing to receive treatment.

Leaders of Bang Thanh commune visited, encouraged, and provided initial support to those who were injured.

This incident serves as a warning about the safety risks in dilapidated buildings and houses, especially old wooden houses in rural and mountainous areas. Local authorities advise people to regularly inspect, reinforce, and repair parts of their houses to avoid similar unfortunate incidents.
