On the afternoon of November 13, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Kiem Hao, Director of the Hue City Department of Health, said that regarding the suspected food poisoning case in Huong Tra ward, the health of 17 workers is now stable, of which one has been discharged from the hospital.
Previously, from 1:00 p.m. on November 11 to 3:30 p.m. on November 12, Huong Tra Medical Center received many suspected cases of food poisoning, all of whom were workers of Joint Well Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Tu Ha Industrial Park, Huong Tra Ward).

Specifically, 16 people were treated at Huong Tra Medical Center and 1 person was treated at Hue Central Hospital, branch 2. The cases were hospitalized with symptoms of dizziness, nausea, chest tightness, rash, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
The first patient showed symptoms at 1 p.m. on November 11, about an hour after having lunch in the company canteen. That lunch consisted of white rice, fried tuna, braised radish with shrimp, egg rolls, and shrimp and cabbage soup. After the incident, the company provided first aid and took the patient to a medical facility.
The working group of the Department of Health coordinated with Huong Tra Medical Center to collect food samples from lunch on November 11 and also took samples to send for testing to find the cause of the suspected food poisoning.
According to the Department of Health, the health of 16 patients treated at Huong Tra Medical Center is currently stable, and 1 patient treated at Hue Central Hospital, branch 2, has been discharged.
The food service provider at the collective kitchen of Joint Well Vietnam Co., Ltd. is Hoang Thi My Le Business Household with Certificate of Food Safety Eligibility No. 176/2023/ATTP-CNĐK issued by the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene on December 12, 2023.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Kiem Hao said that he has directed Huong Tra Medical Center to continue monitoring and treating patients, and at the same time coordinate with Joint Well Vietnam Co., Ltd. to have solutions to propagate and instruct workers on how to monitor their health in the coming time.
In addition, it is necessary to strengthen information and communication work on food safety, practice eating cooked food and drinking boiled water, and guide people in selecting, preparing, processing, preserving and using safe food.
As reported by Health & Life Newspaper , on the evening of November 11, Dr. Le Quang Hiep, Director of Huong Tra Medical Center, said that the unit is receiving and treating 13 workers suspected of food poisoning.
On the afternoon of November 11, 12 workers of the company in the Industrial Park in Huong Tra Ward showed symptoms of suspected food poisoning after lunch. Afterwards, many other workers were taken to the center for examination and treatment.
