Ninh Binh Press: Striving for national press awards

In recent years, many press works of Ninh Binh journalists have been present at prestigious and quality press awards such as: National Press Award, National Press Award on Party building (Golden Hammer and Sickle Award), National Television Festival, Press Award on foreign information... The attention, direction, encouragement and companionship of the province and the leaders of press agencies have encouraged the team of journalists to strive to explore, innovate and create high-quality press works, winning many remarkable awards.

“Golden Hammer and Sickle” is a National Press Award that recognizes the presence of many press works from Ninh Binh Newspaper (formerly). Since the 4th season in 2019, Ninh Binh Newspaper has had a 3-part work “Developing Party members who are religious people in Ninh Binh: Solutions from practice” by the group of authors Kim Toan-Bui Quang-Quynh Thu, winning the C prize. This is the highest prize in the print newspaper category among local party newspapers in this season.

This result is a great honor, and also a motivation for the Party Committee and the Editorial Board of Ninh Binh Newspaper to lead, direct, and promote the spirit of innovation of each individual and collective to invest in quality press works and participate in the annual award. At the 8th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award in 2023, Ninh Binh Newspaper was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee for its outstanding achievements, including 1 C prize and 1 Encouragement prize.

Contributing to this achievement, journalist Nguyen Quynh Thu, Editor of the Print Newspaper - Electronic Newspaper Editorial Department, has been awarded the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award twice. Sharing about this honor, journalist Quynh Thu said: The close attention of the Party Committee, the Editorial Board, and the Provincial Journalists Association has encouraged and motivated each member and reporter to actively respond to and participate in patriotic emulation movements, competitions, and press awards organized by the Central and the province.

As for me, in the process of carrying out my duties as an editor, I have “seen” many problems from the propaganda of bringing the Party’s policies and guidelines into life. When developing topics and outlines for the series of articles I plan to write, I always receive the support, sharing, comments and active participation of the group of authors as well as the agency’s leaders.

In early 2025, journalist Quynh Thu was also honored to receive the Encouragement Prize of the 3rd National Press Award on the National Assembly and People's Council in 2025 (Dien Hong Award) with the work "Decisions for the People" (3 episodes). Along with the fields of print and electronic newspapers, radio and television are also fields that have recorded the positive contributions of many authors from the Provincial Radio and Television Station Journalists Association (formerly) at national press awards, National Television Festival, National Radio Festival... In which, the National Television Festival is a familiar "playground" for Ninh Binh press.

From 2019 to present, the Provincial Radio and Television Station has received 2 Gold prizes, 4 Silver prizes, 1 Bronze prize, 2 Encouragement prizes, 2 Certificates of Merit, 1 prize for the best work on ethnic and mountainous topics; 1 Encouragement prize from the Steering Committee for the award for composing and promoting literary, artistic and journalistic works on the theme "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh " and many awards at press awards organized by central ministries and branches...

Journalist An Hien, Special Topics Department is still mentioned by colleagues as a person who "hunts" many awards in the field of television with 1 Gold Award, 1 Silver Award at the National Television Festival, 1 Encouragement Award at the National Press Award and many awards at journalism competitions on national solidarity, energy saving, agricultural restructuring...

Journalist An Hien said: As a local Party journalist, during my work, I realized that the Party's leadership is present in all areas, clearly demonstrated in the implementation of tasks of agencies and individuals, from which I think and form the work. I hope that from that work, I can spread good experiences, effective ways of doing things and encourage individuals and groups to find ways to solve difficulties and obstacles in performing tasks, bringing development to their agencies, units and localities...

Over the past years, the team of editors and reporters of the press agencies in the province have raised their awareness of maintaining political qualities and professional ethics, improving their professional qualifications, working enthusiastically, contributing to improving the quality of press activities. Along with the efforts of the team of journalists, the press agencies of the province, namely Ninh Binh Newspaper and Ninh Binh Radio and Television Station (formerly) have had many solutions to build a team of journalists with strong political qualities, ethics, and professional expertise.

In addition, the journalist associations also actively participated in organizing meetings, exchanging professional knowledge, inviting experienced experts, winners of competitions, festivals, and press awards to participate in providing professional advice to members and reporters, especially directly consulting on works in progress to participate in the competition.

The training and fostering work of the journalist associations has focused on the contents and topics that members are interested in, such as: How to search and develop topics to compete in national journalism awards; multimedia journalism methods, application of information technology, digital transformation of journalism activities... Every year, the Provincial Journalists Association, sectors and units in the province are interested in organizing "playgrounds" for the press such as: Journalism contests on topics of Party building, tourism, traffic safety, administrative reform, new rural construction...

The competitions have received the participation of many members and reporters from press agencies, encouraging and motivating the team of journalists, creating opportunities and motivation for members to work hard and create high-quality press works, serving as a "bridge" for works to reach national press awards.

Honored to receive the Gold Award in the category of science and education programs at the 42nd National Television Festival in 2025 with the work "Hoa Lu Echo", journalist Thu Huong, Department of Literature and Arts shared: When I was present in Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province to attend the award ceremony of the 42nd National Television Festival, I was really impressed with the works competing this year.

The works are diverse, rich, profound, full of humanity and full of the breath of life. Behind each frame, each film is sweat, tears, intelligence, dangerous journeys, warm hearts, creative intelligence of a profession that is always concerned with a noble mission, thereby creating motivation and inspiration for the community, for society...

That has urged each journalist to make more efforts, to be devoted and committed to the profession, to always actively innovate and be creative in order to both fulfill assigned political tasks and contribute to improving the propaganda quality of Ninh Binh Press. There are more and more excellent and high-quality press works that have won national awards, contributing to enhancing the position of Ninh Binh Press in the national press system.
